Ok the theater near me has people booking advanced tickets for friday night show in the US. For comparison, I did not see any advanced reserved seats for the recent releases like Maa and Metro. Maybe people are interested? I will see how full my screening is tomorrow.

Tickets are selling like hot cakes on BMS.

It will be interesting to watch, what direction the BO pundits and industry takes,in terms of narrative.Will it side with superstars..or give BW a new direction, it desperately needs.

My guess is that producers are fed up of star fees/entourage etc.

Minty wrote about Hrithik's debut movie 25 years ago (a gap of one generation) and the hype before the movie even released. Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai launched Hrithik and Amesha, the soundtrack (on CD then) became a huge success, the love story had a tragic part, the hero is a musician (singer) and his love interest is from another walk-of-life. Hrithik was 26 then (Ahaan is 27) and had already experience with filmwork and acting... btw, the movie got a re-release in January, right?

So, yes, I feel, it is the right film at the right time to give a push to a filmindustry that definitely had lost the connection to the youth with all the last romance movies of newcomers.

There are comparisons with romance movies of already established (and also much older) stars made by some members. I find this completely unfair as this is a movie launching two young newcomers. And - like 25 years ago with Hrithik's and Ameesha's launch movie - it's again the media who insinuates that established stars are now threatened (because of alleged financial outcome). That was unfair in 2000, that is unfair now.

However, if this musical romantic drama film gets the success Hrithik's musical romantic thriller movie got, then filmmakers may - finally - looking out for other romantic scripts then the quite stale ones favoured lately.

Another point that is in favour of Saiyaara: the hero seems to be one of the brooding type giving a bit the 'bad boy' impression while the heroine seems to be a positively thinking and 'innocent' type.

That reminds me the often expressed wish here that Aryan (SRK's son) should act in a movie. I find it quite interesting that Ahaan not only belongs to Aryan's close circle of friends since being toddlers (both 27 with just about a month apart) but also to SRK's close private circle. Ahaan is much more outgoing than Aryan, so it makes a lot of sense that Aryan does filmwork mostly behind the camera and Ahaan mostly in front of a camera.

The theatre near me ( I live in a metropolitan city in India) has almost full shows .

I am still ready to die on this hill that the music is at best decent and NOWHERE close to what we call superhit music. It does not match Suri's previous films's music either. Meri Aashiqui tum hi ho, Sun raha hai na tu were national anthems when they came out.
