Yes that was him, he started his career as hero in hindi films But later part of his career he become producer plus Director of many Religious movies and Serial

Did you watch Sholay film? Surma bhopali played by Jagdeep ( javed Jafrey's father) was a successful hero in B/w movies but later become Comedian.
