You see, I have been watching ITV shows since I was a kid and now I'm a big, fat adult.
Over the years I have realized one thing - perspective changes. Specially when you have seen life more, faced issues and know how the real world works, your POV can change drastically.
This is not related to Ghum but in general, there were movies/shows/characters I loved earlier and now I can't accept them. And then there were characters I found to be weak/questionable and now I understand why at certain time people do certain things.
Also, I have seen fans' blind support and bias along the way.
So when it comes to giving the benefit of the doubt, usually I try not to judge until there's absolutely no other way.

I think I was telling this exact thing some other day - that Savi and Neel would have made sense if there was development and other things. Like I know why S2 fans think S2.5 is a degradation but at least there was some cohesiveness in the storytelling. I love to analyze characters and felt Savi's trauma and how that shaped her later was quite believable and intriguing. I know for the majority it was just a copy-paste of YHM. For me, it was a journey.
Also Sai's bond with Savi felt much more organic to me.
So that's a different thing.
But now we have an IPS officer who shivers every second, can't open her mouth and cries all the time. I'm a sucker for mother-child bond and Bhavika is a good actress so I still watch SaiSa scenes irrespective of what crap they are showing. But when I think about it, I just want to enter the screen, give her two tight slaps and scream - "Woman! Get a grip over yourself!"
So needless to say, the destruction of a character that I once loved does really hurt me.
