Welcome, welcome, welcome. On popular demand it is time for Deal or No Deal Season 1!

We are going to play 4 total rounds and you will have a choice to play either on Discord or on IF in a thread. For the first time ever, the Discord channels will not get trashed. Rather they will be public and remain available until the end of this season. Similarly, the IF threads where players play will not be trashed, but will remain in a public forum until the end of the season after which I will move them to a private forum.

For those who haven't played before, here are the rules...simple game. Really. It's a very simple game.

You'll get a board of 26 possible points you could win in front of you. And you'll have 26 briefcases. The points are distributed randomly in these briefcases. And no two people will get the same order of briefcases.
When we start the game, you will choose one briefcase that you will hold. We will then slowly, one by one, open briefcases from the 25 others left and show you how many points you could have won, but didn't.
3 times during the game, the Banker will appear and offer you a deal to buy your briefcase. The points that the Banker offers will be immediately given to you and the game will end. The Banker will know what points are left on the floor and what points you have in your briefcase so think very carefully when they make you an offer.
At any one point, the Host will offer you a swap. The Host also knows what is in each briefcase so be very sure what you want to do when you get their offer. A swap means that the Host will open your briefcase and the one you named will become your new briefcase. For example, if Hinna was holding briefcase 5 as hers and wanted to open briefcase 20 and she accepts the swap, then her new briefcase will become 20 and the Host will open briefcase 5 instead. After the swap, you will have the chance to either end the game or continue playing.
Note that all 4 rounds are not going to be the same. The first round will follow this method but other rounds will be slightly different.

So without further ado sign up by June 29th 11:59 PM IST and also let me know if you want to play the game on IF threads or Discord.

Players will get a badge as long as they play 3 out of 4 rounds. I will give a pass to everyone for 1 round. If people quit midway, then I will decide on badge status based on reasoning.

Q: How long will this game take?

A: I will give you 15 minute slots for each round if you are playing on Discord and 30 minutes for IF threads. We will play until your round doesn't end. I won't try to rush you, but from previous experience the Discord rounds typically were faster simply because it was a chat page versus on IF threads we'll have the restriction of 5 posts every 3 minutes. Each round will last between 3 to 4 days so everyone has time to play, but once your slot is over you can relax until the next round.

Q: Is it better to play on Discord or IF threads?

A: Discord 100%. Deal or No Deal is a game show that involves back and forth conversation. Discord is more conducive to this conversation style, but I have provided IF threads as an alternative for those who don't have Discord and don't want to open a Discord account.

Q: What if I cannot play any of the slots you provided?

A: Let me know what time works for you and I'll see if I can make that time work for me. Remember I'm in an EST time zone so I'm not going to adjust my sleep schedule or work schedule for you.
