WTC : 2027-2029 : 4 Day Test>

I have great news to share with you. Right now Afghanistan / Ireland & zimbabwe not yet Qualify to play in World Test Championship but following country now play WTC >> india, Pakistan, Sri lanka, Bangladesh, New zealand, SAfrica, England, Australia and Westindies

ICC president Jai Amit Shah told in recent ICC metting,

5 day test matches are more Expensive on this days while more than 60% test matches in last 5 years were completed, in 3 or 4 day test so he suggest in Wtc 2027-29 test matches shoul be 4 day test ( Eng / Ind & Aus are against in playing 4 day test, they will continued to play 5 day test ONLY - They can afford 5 day test matches upto even 19 test matches, one of last cycle eng played 21 test matches compared to 8 or 9 by pakistan )

Team with low rank -- West indies, Bangladesh, PAKISTAN who prefered to play very less test koz they not afford financilly to play same number of test like BIG THREE.

ENG v ireland & Eng v Zimbabwe played 4 day test in 2017 & 2025 respectively, results came within 4 days.

Also ICC Allowed 4 day test in 2017

Major agenda in the recent ICC meeting already decided to play 4 day test to all country other than Big Three mentions before, that way minor nation will play more & more test which can save their time ( right now 20/20 overs are # 1 format & test matches importance are declined which is the oldest format and should remain number 1 format

Right now 2025-2027 WTC Cycle, total 27 series suppose to be play, in which 17 test series are 2 test series only.with 4 day test this situation changed and country like SL, westindies, Bangladesh etc can play more test matches of 4 day each with more test series's than what they doing now.(2 test series), also their chances will increase Ranking wise.

For 2025-27 nothing will changed and Matches will be remain of 5 day test with 90 overs A day compares to 98 overs a day in 4 day test in WTC 2027-2029 cycle.

Afghanistan. Ireland & Zimbabwe Qualified to play test cricket since long time but their ranking are not up to "good certain standard wise" koz they play hardly one test in 365 days, Jai shah also wants them to play more test matches in up coming years so they may Qualify to play in WTC. I think Good idea to 12 teams in WTC, right now only 9 teams in WTC

South africa played 9 test & they win all 9 that is how they Qualified to play Final & rest is the history.
