I don't think there is any automatic nullification, legal process for divorce have to he followed for the same but would be granted on this basis. But 7 years is actually for presumption of death. Ar's case since he left after leaving a letter is more of a desertion rather and for this only 2 years abandonment is needed as a reason, not even 7 years
If you recall, there was a case of woman married to a soldier …he did not come back from war for seven years or something like that ..so they got her married again …and then the first husband returned .:I don’t think they went to court but the panchayat ruled that she had to return to her first husband ..…she was pregnant with the second husband’s child .,,it was a real mess and I think she finally died …tragic !
