Some dialogues/inner monologues from You season 5, episode 4:

“You are trouble. The word, “affair” has been ping-ponging around my head ever since it slipped out of your pink lips. Were I a weaker man, I’d take the current strain in my marriage as a reason to pursue you. But I’m not that man, Bronte. Beguile me. Pique my curiosity. But what I have is something I won’t jeopardize. A good, stable life. For myself. For my son. And that is worth fighting for. So, you, as beguiling as you are, must remain in that box in my mind I designed for you.”

“You challenge me, Bronte. In the ways I need to be challenged. Every day, I feel more seen by you. And every day it breaks me a little.”

“There it is. That dark side I keep seeing glimmers of. But does it only exist in your writing? Or is it really you?”

“For years, I searched for the woman who would truly understand me. Some small part of me still hopes it’s Kate. But minute by minute, you make the case it could be you.”

“My wife looks at me like I’m a beast, despises that side of me. But today you reminded me of the virtues of a beast, Bronte. You value the side of me that steps up when no one else will. And this is that moment. The time, as you’d say, to beast out.”

“You could destroy me, Bronte. But right now, I would rather burn the entire world down than let you walk out that door.”

India after ruled by many lost its basic essence of education, science, law and administration alongside spirituality.....

Therefore such dogmatic flow not just religious instead in various forms/fields prospered by majority and became business....

Waise Satyajit Roy was atheist and he particularly targetted Hindu stuffs in Devi so protests was meant to happen....instead of picking superstitious approach including Kaali maa he should have shown how many things which weren't part of our culture became because of toxic masculinity and weaker sections of society....like Sati which wasn't supported even in manusmriti as it disregards suicide and only focuses leaving materialistic pleasures after death of spouse....but logon ne dharm ka mjaak bna diya ....smiley24

Do you know the story of Devi? If you don't know, I want to explain. In that movie, some people thought a girl was possessed by the Goddess and she had the ability to cure patients. He didn't target the Goddess there. He only targeted the mindset of those people. There's huge difference between targeting the goddess and a specific type of thought process. Also, he could show any topic he wanted in his films. He was a film maker. If a film maker feels interested in a particular topic, he can show that. He doesn't need anyone's permission. Also, please talk with respect when it comes to my favourite author. I admire him immensely. I know you're not Bengali. So, you probably don't know about his greatness and talent. I suppose you never read his stories. So, you have no idea what kind of an amazing author he was. He was a multi-talented man and a logical thinker. He was an author, film maker, screenwriter, illustrator, graphic designer, lyricist, calligrapher and editor. He won Oscar in 1992 as well. Just because he was an atheist that doesn't mean you can say whether you want. He clearly said in his interview that he didn't attack Hinduism in the movie. That wasn't his intention at all. He attacked dogmatism and that's completely different from attacking religion. The way you talked about atheism, it seemed you considered atheism to be a crime and you believed atheists liked to hurt the sentiments of others. Do you think atheists enjoy inflicting pain on others? No, atheists don't think like that. Even the brave freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh was an atheist as well. Does that mean he lacked values? Was he a person who enjoyed hurting the emotions of others? We all acknowledge the sacrifices and greatness of our freedom fighters. I want to make something clear. I understand you're an argumentative person. That's probably your personality and you can't change it. I know different people have different types of personalities. But I don't always have the energy to argue with you. I don't really enjoy arguing with you. And I wasn't looking for your opinion. I only shared this video because I liked it and agreed with him. May be we should talk less because a lot a arguments happen whenever we talk to each other.

I know about Devi aur main Satyajit ya phir atheism ko target nhi kar rha....there are different ideologies and PPL carrying them around in the world....so it's fine to be different than majority, if you carry values....

Not as criticism I wanted to mention in 60s even today such concepts can incorporate problems for filmmakers like how PK, OMG and some historical movies with rigid believes got backlash....So it was better if instead of directly dealing with dogmatism where PPL have their sentiments attached, he should have tried to target root mentality....

I am not a very religious person but yes I believe in God and actually spiritual beliefs which are flexible and for greater good instead of cultural side effects...
