By now we should have understood that Leena always wanted to portray Jhanak as a villain...first villain in Ani's life, then villain in Arshi's life (jo ki woh kar nahi payi jyada proof) and now villain in Kanka's life...she never intended to give Jhanak any respectable position in society...isi liye she never allowed Jhanak to fight for her love and her marriage with Ani.
