Weren't he happy while cake cutting, fed each other...I did nt see any one forced him to do all this. So for me he is leading the life which he has chosen...so obviously whether he is happy or unhappy doesn't make any difference .

And honestly atp if Ani going back to chudail or not also not that important...I feel Leena created this MU only to satisfy her laadli by making Ani to say I Love You arshi one last time.
