The press briefing statement was that DG of Pakistan called Indian counterpart to end these and de escalate. Indian military establishment agreed for this agreement.

So yes we did announce that they called us.

the original poster said the opposite making it clear they don’t know what they speaking of as they probably don’t remember or didn’t see the press brief,

He said “We should have made known publicly that a request has come from pak about ceasefire. If pakistan didn't contradict that statement, Then only we should have accepted it.”

which now you and I have both stated that we did make it known publicly

The President is the ceremonial head of the Armed Forces in India.

Are you actually debating this with me ? Or trying to make a vague point using the word “ceremonial” ?

So let me ask plainly. Who is the commander in chief that is making final decisions ? PM - Yes / No ?

I wasn’t debating, I was just correcting you. In India, the Prime Minister is the real head of the state, but the official head is the President. So, it's technically incorrect to call the PM as the Commander in Chief. That's what I was saying.

let’s not go in circles. PM is the commander in chief absent an emergency :) it’s the finer point detail even if you say he/she acts on behalf of President. President doesn’t act as commander in chief absent an emergency.

Pakistan has thanked many nations for support, this is where we lost.

We need major changes in our diplomacy, when China is a big power AND our neighbour, there's no point fighting with them

1. please don’t hide / assume what public will say. It’s good enough for it to be your individual opinion and neither your nor mine represents the public correct ?

2. Did you watch the press briefing even? Do you know we categorically said they called us ? Their DOMA director of military operations ? So your facts are not in place

3. You can choose to be a Monday morning quarterback. Every decision anyone makes has a chance of 50% right or wrong and in hindsight you can say. We were right or wrong. Truth is that doesn’t change the government does in that moment when it chooses to make the decisions with all known facts at hand and paths it explores

4. So given 3 above if you know God who has complete knowledge and foresight who we will all accept as our PM and will make no mistakes / rest assured humans will make mistakes the best leaders and the rest

jai Hind 🇮🇳

1. Agree neither you nor I represent public but this what I feel public might feel too. I cannot predict anything and I may be totally wrong in my feeling but that's what I feel. Can't deny that even if may be politically incorrect.

2. The press briefing was done after the decision was already taken. It should have been done before taking the decision. In that case Pak wouldn't have been able to deny it was them who approached. If they denied then the ceasefire shouldn't have been accepted.

3 and hence government can be criticised for the decision it makes

4. Mistakes, if made should be accepted and rectified too.

one could not be further from the truth if one tried.. I give up

If we believe that our view is exactly how PM should behave else enemy won - there goes the country and its policy and strategy and the unity.

This is plain speak by me. 🇮🇳 is a democracy so feel free to make things clear.

I have quoted you a lot and responded. I won’t further so that we don’t argue and fight - not anger but out of respect. I continue to believe we are on the same side here which is 🇮🇳

bhai tum ko 100% faith hai government pe to zaruri nahi hai ki sabko hi ho. Yaha pe hum india ke liye. Even if there is anyone who is not in favour of the current government but in favour of countering and eradicating terrorists or avenging the loss of lives and condemning pakistan toh you cannot expect them to have the same opinion as yours. You should accept this. Let people breathe for having a difference of opinion.

Don’t be upset the whole world knows Pakistan is a struggling nation and can’t compete with India. It’s just jealousy speaking.

I am definitely all in all for my country but that doesn’t mean I can’t have questions for the government.

Brother not being intense. I was merely responding with no intention to not let you breathe and express another point of view

if you don’t want me to respond. I won’t. Didn’t i say we are on the same side ? 🇮🇳. Brother ?

I never denied that. I already said that the PM is the real head of state; but officially it's the president. Therefore, we don't use the term CoC while referring to the PM. That's what I pointed out here.
