There was a problematic dialogue in 2 States- "Who will sit infront a cake and not eat it?" I don't remember the words exactly. It was something like that. He was talking about the heroine. I thought it was not okay to talk or write about a girl like that. He was objectifying the girl. This kind of words aren't expected from a very intelligent and qualified guy. Then I heard there was a very disturbing dialogue in Half Girlfriend. The dialogue is so disturbing that I can't write it here. I didn't read Half Girlfriend. As far as the cultural aspects of 2 States are considered, it's not possible for me to identify the inaccuracies because I'm neither Tamil or Punjabi. But I can understand what you're saying.
Yes, how can I forget those dialogues! They were really wrong and blatant objectification. I really couldn't bring myself to read any other book of his after that. Some books have no justification for being a bestseller. His are some of those.
