I was listening of gauri shankar kalyanam and the mountains it mentioned is here. So how come it's of muslims.

Yes ... Even kashmir Shaivism originated there.

Also, I didn't know about the many other Exodus of Kashmiri pandits that happened in Kashmir, apart from the one in 90s. That thread was very informative.

Also they separated and killed innocent men based on their religion. We let a Hindu and Muslim woman come together to announce how we avenged our men.

Lots of symbolism if u think about it....

I remember some of them but none were able to wipe out Hindus. This 1991 is the first one I think. It was Targeted killing.

Yes they weren't able to wipe out but they were extremely scary. One of the earliest that happened right during the time kashmir joined India had accounts of how muslim tribals attacked & raided and how Hindu women would take poison or weapon in their hands to finish themselves off because falling into their hands was a much worse fate.

Sharing something here Bringing out true flavor of what India is … a write up on India beautifully scripted by Ajit Sivaram ;

——————————————————————————

India isn't a country. It's a beautiful contradiction.

The world looks at us and sees chaos.

We look at the same scene and see home.

They call it noise. We call it life.

They see poverty. We see resilience.

They see crowds. We see community.

This isn't blind patriotism.

It's the complexity of loving something that refuses to be simple.

India breaks every rule of what should work. Our traffic shouldn't move, but it does. Our diversity should divide us, but it doesn't. Our democracy should collapse under its own weight, but it stands. Somehow, impossibly, magnificently - it all works. Not perfectly. Not always efficiently. But it works.

Foreigners arrive with clipboards and theories. They measure our GDP, our sanitation, our systems. They leave confused when they see joy in places their metrics said should have none. They can't understand why the same people who complain about corruption will defend India fiercely to an outsider.

Because they're looking for consistency. And India isn't consistent. It's contradictory.

We worship goddesses but struggle with women's safety. We invented zero but can't fix our potholes. We send rockets to Mars but still have villages without electricity. We touch feet in the morning and party at night. We're ancient and infant, spiritual and material, frustrating and fulfilling - all at once.

The secret that outsiders miss is this: Indians don't love India despite its problems. We love it with its problems. The chaos is part of the charm. The struggle is part of the story. The imperfection is part of the beauty.

This isn't resignation. It's a different kind of hope. Not the Western kind that demands immediate solutions, but the Eastern kind that understands time moves in cycles, not lines. That problems aren't just to be fixed but to be lived through. That joy isn't what happens when suffering ends, but what happens while you're waiting.

We don't need the world to understand India.

We just need them to accept that some things can't be understood, only experienced.

Because India isn't a place you analyze.

It's a place you surrender to.

And in that surrender, somehow, you find yourself.

I read it and it beautifully depicts the India I love, I experienced, I would like to sustain the harmony of opposites. I know that some members gave me the stamp of being anti-India because I'm very critical towards some politics done, but politics can't touch my love for the common people. I'm only an "outsider" by my birthplace, skin colour and nationality, not by my heart (if certain members here believe it or not, doesn't matter to me... it could very well be, that by getting to know each other face to face not knowing about our membership in this forum, we could even become friends).

Btw, Ajit is a great man...absolutely gorgeous (and his friend, too)...just for those who don't know him:

If Indian army had did this then it would be out in news like 1971 pak army rapes.

Ir it could be separatist agenda.

1991 is not medieval, medical involvement would have cleared everything.

Seems like a fake story as usual.. BG Verghese did deny the rapes as exaggeration but he has raised logical questions for arriving at his conclusions. Too many contradictions in stories and deliberate delays in investigation. There was no medico legal case prepared and the women went to get the medical test done weeks later. Also the number went on randomly going up. But this one stands out,

"Despite the terrible “atrocity” committed by 4th Raj Rif, women and children from Kunan never stopped attending the unit’s weekly medical camp in Trehgam. We met some of them during our visit in June. They said it was only here and not in the Government health facilities that they got real care."

For any one interested can go thorugh this article...

https://www.bgverghese.com/KunanPoshpora.htm

Those times did not have the advantage of social media so it's easy to concoct rape story to justify terrorism in the state. With such huge data of rapes ranging anywhere between 23 to 100, there is no medical report ?? Very strange.
