Everybody knows it's no documentary & a fictional drama meant for escapism, so why not label them as "unrealistic dramatic characters" rather than correlating FLs as ones remotely portraying strong feminist values because their characterization is inconsistent & flip-flop because of TRPs and not due to any critical thinking & analytical writing
ITV stories & FLs are already boring & not even dramatic anymore
Instead of hailing them as best & strong characters esp Ganja show's characters, we should continue calling them inconsistent characters, not even flawed, we all know there have been better written characters to already grace ITV. Let alone being best-written ,Ganja characters are not even good-written characters, because there's no writing involved in Ghum first of all, everything is blatant copy-paste
Jab aisi without head & tail writing hogi toh vaisi hi headless chickens kinda characters honge, hence audience would stop lapping up clownish writing & remotely enjoy any kind of tomfoolery they throw at us.
However, one thing I would agree is Ghum did a huge blunder by bringing back Reeva untimely in the show, otherwise SAKK track did good for the show commercially. Ganja's own creativity by bringing Reeva back & deviating from Mohor/Swabhimaan/SAKK proved to be the downfall for S2
Anyway, to each its own, PEACE OUT!!
Yup, everyone knows it’s not a documentary — that’s the whole point. It’s fictional drama, meant for mass consumption, escapism, and entertainment. And if someone expect nuanced writing from a daily soap built on trp pressure and 7-day telecasts, maybe we all watching the wrong genre.
Lmao, first of all, I never said she's some ultra-strong feminist queen who inspires my life decisions. I simply said I miss what she used to be before her character got diluted, before she fell for Ishan and completely forgot her own goals and identity. That doesn’t mean I see her as some real-life role model smh. “Strong” means different things to different people. For some, it’s physical power. For others, it’s emotional control, vulnerability, or just having a spine. There’s no universal definition. And I’m not some woke thesis-writing feminism expert trying to dissect the anatomy of a well-written character. I’m just a viewer who wants some entertainment.
Yeah agree though, characters in Ghum could be written way better But I think Itv was like that. Even the so-called “elite” or “iconic” shows were full of melodrama, and inconsistencies. Ig People watched them because they were entertaining, not perfect.
Anyways, we both brought our perspectives to the table, and we’re both valid in our own way. Peace out drink water stay hydrated ✌🏻👍🏻
