Yup, everyone knows it’s not a documentary — that’s the whole point. It’s fictional drama, meant for mass consumption, escapism, and entertainment. And if someone expect nuanced writing from a daily soap built on trp pressure and 7-day telecasts, maybe we all watching the wrong genre.
Lmao, first of all, I never said she's some ultra-strong feminist queen who inspires my life decisions. I simply said I miss what she used to be before her character got diluted, before she fell for Ishan and completely forgot her own goals and identity. That doesn’t mean I see her as some real-life role model smh. “Strong” means different things to different people. For some, it’s physical power. For others, it’s emotional control, vulnerability, or just having a spine. There’s no universal definition. And I’m not some woke thesis-writing feminism expert trying to dissect the anatomy of a well-written character. I’m just a viewer who wants some entertainment.
Yeah agree though, characters in Ghum could be written way better But I think Itv was like that. Even the so-called “elite” or “iconic” shows were full of melodrama, and inconsistencies. Ig People watched them because they were entertaining, not perfect.
Anyways, we both brought our perspectives to the table, and we’re both valid in our own way. Peace out drink water stay hydrated ✌🏻👍🏻
@ bold:- And neither it was directed to you specifically, I know you were talking about how things got diluted post- Reeva's entry, and how things could be along with your talks about strong characters , it was a general statement for all the ones who indeed consider these inconsistent ITV characters as some ultra-strong & best feminist queens. but reality is they're not even written rationally & actually deviate anytime becz of TRPs. They are glorified at the expense of/bali of other characters
LOL!! Nobody expects the writing of these cartoonish shows to be nuanced, it's a no brainer, I, toh at least don't, so at the same time people shouldn't even get possessive, sad or offended when these clown shows are rightfully getting roasted, trolled & treated as meme-material (again not talking about you or anybody, specifically)
Also, excessive show of physical power of adults onto the ones who're faultless due to misunderstanding , in the name of disciplining them & humiliating others' self-esteem isn't some strength of a character but borderline violence and abusive, and, I sadly neither endorse or like such stupidity.
Ganja PH has made slapping a normal thing & physical violence by women into some medal winning contest & tashanbaaji. Just reverse the gender & imagine a woman getting slapped for their dumbness and bamn the uproar, it would be then considered as the most vile thing in the world & jung ka ailan. I don't prefer any gender getting slapped like that, except criminals & terrorists. There are 10 thousand ways to show a strong/angry women but itv writers are too dumb/ non creative and the audience has also given moral validity to this in their mind. 2 non-criminal adults slapping each other is too insane and pretty much barbaric. Anyway, to each its own
Also, maine toh bhai aajtak kisi bhi ITV shows & characters keliye iconic & elite use kiya nahi, even randomly, for the sake of preserving the weightage of these words. Garima hai inn words ka bhai, which I won't waste on trash. Inn words ke weightage halka nahi karna chahti by randomly using it.
I, too, know the functioning of troll-worthy ITV shows
, so I keep it like that....Yeah, indeed. PEACE OUT!!
