It wasn’t its failure per se. It was the fact that it was a badly made and acted movie. The Abhishek of Drona was a far cry from the Abhishek of Guru or Bunty Aur Bubli or even flops like Jhoom Barbara Jhoom etc. I do believe that he’s a very good actor and quite versatile actually. But in Drona he actually regressed.

It’s definitely a subjective perspective, and this is solely my take on this.

Grr....Drona I think they all were too confident that the movie would be superhit.

Jaya made some comments and MNS was upset. That also brought attention on Sonali & Raj Thackaray. Ultimately Amitabh apologized.

Something like she would only speak in Hindi as she was from UP...That was said to rattle Raj Thackray and his political agenda. MNS party workers didn't take that kindly & Drona release was in danger. So Amitabh publicly apologized.
