It's just that Anne's been like a best friend/sister/kindred spirit character to me since middle school... this book is a comfort book that I've read over and over in my life, so I honestly think I might be a bit too attached to Anne atp 😅 the red hair was something that she hated about herself and later she learns to accept and love it... and that journey was very special to me. Seeing that important feature changed just feels a bit off.

Aww that's so cute though, getting a rec from your kid! smiley42 they seem to have good taste smiley27 are they also a reader like you?

Yeah I understand that. I also get possessive about my fave book characters &/or attached to one specific portrayal of them on screen so I will resist watching anything that even slightly differs from the book canon version or the version in my head I've grown attached to!

Yeah, my kiddo is a reader too though her tastes are very different from mine! smiley9

Haina! I also shirked away from The Shadowhunters bcz Jace was a very beloved book boyfriend of mine and that casted guy was just not it smiley19 though at least for that show, I'm not missing out on much by not watching it, from what I've heard. It's just the Malec that's been done very well and sometimes make me wanna watch smiley42

Aww... what does she like? smiley42 And how old is she? My bestie and I had this problem too. I was very big on horror/paranormal/thrillers when I was younger, while my bestie gorged exclusively on romance books. She stayed away from horror, I stayed away from romance smiley36 we both read similar amounts of books but our libraries were way different smiley36 the only common things we both enjoyed were the dystopian and fantasy novels smiley9

For me it's Darcy and P & P. I cannot get over how perfect Colin Firth was as Darcy and I haven't found another Darcy who portrays book Darcy so perfectly - though I have (& will continue to) watch all iterations of P & P (I like to torture myself like that! smiley36)

But sometimes I have found getting out of my head & not being so rigid helps - like I thought no other version of LoTR would work for me but I did enjoy the second season of Rings of Power - though there are very few character overlaps from the movies.

My kiddo is in her terrible teens smiley36. She likes slice of life, tragic, dystopian dramas while I prefer thrillers and romances. smiley36Then again, I'm weird when it comes to fantasy - I can't read shapeshifters and non-human creatures romancing smiley36

Just finished.. Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald..

I am so glad to have evaded knowing the plot till now, despite it being a classic and been adapted so many times on TV and movies..

What an experience of a book.. The Jazz era.. Everything portrayed in such a simple, melancholic yet mesmerizing way..

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hi buddies

Whats up? Sorry was so held up.... couldn't update till now... But I have completed 3 books so far and starting the 4th one today...

1984 by George is too complicated, being a dystopian novel but after few pages Of read I was glued to it. Its a beautifully written piece ,gloomy though but the author has confidently put in his words and we can get along with the complexity slowly.... I had to read it very slow to take in the essence , infact I had to read some pages twice or infact thrice.

Jeeves in the offing is very fun to read. I loved combination of reading one complex novel and one light hearted one..... So there was a balance ...

Now I have grabbed Paths of glory by Jeffrey Archer.... Have read his novels in the past ... This one never tried...

Let me update frequently without gaps
