I think they are showing that newer gen girls like outward guys instead. Thats why in earlier episodes, Teju kept mocking Neil stating a ba ba kyu kar rahe ho, baat karni nahi aati kya and all.
Yes, Rutu has both inferiority and superiority complex against Neil. He is battling which complex to bring in where most of the time.

I am totally convinced that Indian television writers have got the newer generation completely wrong. Most of us don't speak in the abnormally stupid language that most Millennials would like to imagine in real life. Perhaps on chat we do use abbreviations now and then, but that doesn't go out of hand like those embarrassing clips from a certain what's this relationship called show. And the recent influx of bubbly FLs from Gen Z in every other show on television right now is actually a distant thought. There are girls who like outward guys, but people, regardless of the gender, around me at least are usually into their own academics and business, liking humans who in general are a bit introverted, soft-spoken but firm and confident. We are quite social when it comes to work, but personally, most of us rarely like to interact with such overly extroverted creatures. Apne kaam se kaam rakhna is probably the motto of this generation when it comes to social life.
As for Rutu and even Neil, I can only sing, "Pyaar tumhe kis mod pe le aaya, ki dil kare haye, koi yeh bataye kya hoga?"
