If both Jadeja and Ashwin haven't bowled their full quota of four overs at Chepauk, it means the batting side has performed well. Inserted to bat, Salt got RCB off to a flier as the Englishman scored 30 out of the 32 runs in the first three overs. CSK fought back with a couple of tight overs and Noor had Salt stumped off the final ball of the powerplay. Padikkal walked in with a positive intent, scored 15 runs off Jadeja in an over but perished to Ashwin's off-spin in the following over. The visitors were 93/2 at the halfway mark with their ace batter - Kohli - struggling for timing - 16 off 22 deliveries. Kohli got hit by a Pathirana bouncer and replied with a four and a six. However, he fell to Noor while trying to slogsweep. Captain Rajat Patidar was dropped thrice and he took advantage of it by notching up a half-century. Jitesh played a little cameo as well. Both of them were dismissed in quick succession and Pathirana bowled a superb penultimate over, conceding just one run. Tim David's three sixes in the final over took RCB's total close to 200. This is definitely a better batting pitch when compared to the MI game.

Noor Ahmad: Truly grateful for the Purple Cap and hopefully I keep it till the end of the tournament. The pitch was a little different, there wasn't much turn and I wanted to bowl length deliveries. I feel lucky to have him (Dhoni) behind the stumps. The wicket looks better, we need a good start and we will chase it down. Everyone will enjoy it (getting Kohli's wicket).
