Brief Story
A group of college students, with diverse backgrounds and dreams, find friendship, love, and purpose through their shared passion for dance, navigating the challenges of young adulthood and the competitive world of stage performance.
Kriya Ghai, a small town girl from Dehradun has a strong passion for dance. Her single mother is strictly against dance and does not allow Kriya to follow her dreams. However, Kriya talks to her mother about going to Mumbai for further studies, while actually she plans to fulfill her passion for dance. Before their departure, on the New Year's night, she meets Reyansh Singhaniya, and both get arrested for damaging some of the club's property. Kriya walks out of the police station, unaware of the fact that Rey had fallen in love with her at first sight.
On reaching St. Lious, Kriya is shocked to discover that the college has two major divisions amongst the students - Dazzlers and Weaklings. The "Dazzlers" consists of the richer kids of the college who clearly have superiority complex, whereas the "Weaklings" includes the talented but ordinary students who are bullied by the Dazzlers. Fate plays its role when Kriya runs into Rey again and finds out that he is the leader of the Dazzlers.
Kriya also runs into Sharon Raiprakash, sophisticated and arrogant girl yet talented dancer of the dazzlers team which turns into an ugly encounter. This causes the Dazzlers to turn against Kriya. Despite her talent, Kriya is labelled as a 'weakling' and is refrained from showcasing her talent.
She then learns about a nation-wide dance competition- FootLoose. Kriya also learns about Swayam Shekhawat,a superb dancer who is being ragged by the Dazzlers and is in love with Sharon. Driven by her love for dance, Kriya becomes determined to establish her own dance team and compete against the Dazzlers in Footloose auditions.
Rey's feelings for Kriya continues to blossom as he secretly helps her to make her place in the college and eslablish her own dance team, the "weaklings".
This is when two teams are finally formed - The Dazzlers includes Rey, Sharon, Nilesh, Simmi, Rinni and Vicky. The Weaklings are Kriya, Swayam, Bharat, Vishakha, Amar and Neha.
The rivalry is on top. But love blossoms between Vicki and Neha which breaks another age old rule - Dazzlers and Weakling cannot date each other. It is a rule that Sharon firmly believes in. Swayam is already in love with Sharon but Sharon constantly tries to push him away. This is when Prof. Millick comes into picture and helps the two teams become friends. Malik leaves St. Louis after the teams have reconciled and is replaced by Ms. Nicole. Meanwhile, St. Louis organizes a dance festival where Kriya realizes she likes Rey. Rey and Kriya decide to bring Swayam and Sharon together. During the rehearsals for special couple dance Sharon reveals that she is in love with her secret admirer. As Rey and Kriya try to find out who is the secret admirer they fall in love in the process. When Sharon discovers that her secret admirer is non other than Swayam, she rejects his feelings towards her. Swayam is shattered after Sharon's rejection and is depressed.
Rey pursues Kriya and their relationship starts. Rey and Kriya organise a fest. Shivam, the Cultural Secretary of K.R. College brings his college's dance team to St. Louis to participate in the Dance Fest. His dance team members end up being rowdy and injure Vicki in the process. After the Dance Fest, Shivam throws a party and invites everyone. At the party he ends up kissing Sharon, by which Swayam is hurt deeply. Shivam later apologizes and pretends to be Sharon's friend just so he can steal the Dazzler's choreography.
Shivam succeeds in stealing the dance recordings from Sharon's mobile and informing Kriya's mother about her dancing. Kria's mother allows her to perform at the competition on condition that Kriya would forget Dance and Rey after the competition. Kriya agrees to her mother's condition and reaches the venue. The weaklings give a mind blowing performance at the competition. Shivam is angry that his plans to keep Kriya and Team from performing at the Competition failed. The Dazzlers congratulate the Weaklings on their performance. but Kriya avoids talking to Rey. The Dazzlers are shocked to see that Shivam has stolen and copied their dance. The Dazzlers try to perform the same dance but had to withdraw from the stage because of audience humiliating them throwing things at them. The Weaklings and the King Rangers qualify for the competition while the Dazzlers lose. Sharon is blamed by Vicky and Nilesh as responsible for them losing in the competition.
Rey confronts Kriya and she says that she only used him and does not have any feelings for him. She tells him that if she has to choose in between him and Swayam, she would choose Swayam.
After the breakup, Rey becomes a different person. He is no longer the same fun-loving, cool-guy. He becomes mature.
The Dazzler's humiliation at Footloose leaves Sharon completely shattered and underconfident. Swayam decides help her come out of her shell again. He does end up doing so, by silently supporting her throughout. Though she never acknowledges it, Sharon does have feelings for Swayam.
After the gang's return from Goa, where Sharon renewed her confidence, Taani enters. Taani is Swayam's sister and is in love with Rey, a feeling so strong that it compels her come from Jodhpur to Mumbai. Despite initial resistance, she ends up becoming a part of the gang. After Kriya's departure, the Weaklings are busy looking for a 6th dancer.
Taani tries to impress Rey by joining the Weakling dancing team by forging an audition tape. Rey tries to train her when he finds out that Taani is not a dancer but even his training does not help her. She ultimately decides that she is just not good enough to be a part of the dancing team. When the gang find out about Taani, they boycott her. Sharon and Rey try to make the others include Taani but to no avail. Finally when Taani becomes the Assistant General Secretary, the others finally start respecting her. Slowly they start considering Taani their friend and ally. When Taani tells Rey about her feelings for him, he becomes furious. He still hadn't gotten over Kriya and just couldn't think of anyone else. This hurts Taani and she vows to stop thinking of Rey.
Shivam enters their college once again and tries to break the team. He befriends Taani, and uses her to manipulates things against the D3 gang. Taani and he pretend to be a couple, which gets Rey jealous. Sharon finally accepts her love for Swayam and expresses it, commencing their "trial relationship". They decide to keep their relationship a secret. TThe Dazzlers manage to get back into Footloose, but Shivam ends up creating trouble between the two teams by raising the topic of the Weakings team falling short of a dancer. When Sharon is unable to keep up her word of letting the team in because of Shivam's tactics, the Weaklings blame the Dazzlers for their defeat and the latter's win. It ends up breaking Vicky and Neha's relationship and Vishakha leaves the college.
During a Dance Camp that Sharon faints while dancing and is taken to Delhi. The Dance Camp ends up breaking the confidence of the gang, as only Swayam, Neha and Rey win titles. Taani and Rey gets closer while Swayam continues to maintain a long distance relationship with Sharon. The gang meets Aashi, a fellow college student who always wanted to be a part of the Weaklings team. Aashi has a crush on Swayam which ends up in the gang constantly teasing them together, against Swayam's wishes. Taani and Rey come closer meanwhile. Discouraged by then VP, Khushboo, everyone quits the dancing except Swayam, Rey, Nilesh and Aashi. During this time, Taani and Rey continuously bicker and argue about their relationship and GS-AGS and the personal equation. After a while, they confess their feelings for one another and become a couple. However, Sharon stops responding to Swayam's calls and messages which worries him. When Sharon finally returns from Delhi, she behaves coldly with him before announcing that she doesn't want to be in a relationship with Swayam anymore. Swayam is shattered but still tries to find out Sharon's reasons.
Sharon tells the gang that she won't be a part of the dance team anymore. She refuses to help the team prepare for the dance at Indiafest, though it ends up with Swayam and her sharing a passionate dance. At Indiafest, the entire gang arrives unexpectedly. Everyone, including Sharon, performs at Indiafest together which attracts a viewer who offers them money to perform together. This leads the team to form their own group, D3. Swayam and Sharon emotionally break up after a confrontation. Suddenly Sharon has an attack and Swayam gets to know the real reason why she distanced herself from him and dance - Asthma. In spite of the break up, Swayam silently continues to take care of her which manages to get them closer to each other, though as friends.
The D3 gang begins to perform at various events while preparing for the Nation Dance Championship(NDC) as well. At this time, Swayam's father, Rishi Shekhawat enters. He hates Swayam's passion for dance and keeps putting him down. Unaware of Rey's dancing talent, he constantly pits Rey against Swayam, ending to Swayam becoming extremely angry and annoyed. Rey realises that Taani is becoming far too dependent on him and breaks up with her, hoping she will be able to become more independent. Sharon also realises she has undeniable feelings for Swayam and gets closer to him, leaving him confused about where their relationship stands. The D3 team goes on progressing from one NDC level to another. They are eliminated during one level, which Swayam feels is because of the injury he had sustained. Later, they realise it was because of a biased judge who is removed because of Taani's efforts and the team's disqualification is taken back. Swayam tries to stay away from Sharon to prevent himself from being hurt. But eventually, Sharon ends up indirectly confessing her feelings for him by telling his father. This leads to Swayam and Sharon proposing their feelings to each other finally and them becoming a couple, which they decide to keep a secret. Rey tells Taani the reason for their break up but Taani decides to end the relationship for good and move on. On the day of the finals of NDC, thanks to Sharon, Rishi ends up making up with his son. The team wins the competition.
Soon after, Taani tells everyone she is leaving the college. Rey was left heartbroken. But his friends help him try to forget and move on. It is then when Aditya Khurrana, a PR agent enters and offers to promote Rey. Rey agrees, but only if it is along with the gang. Mr Khurrana tries numerous ways to separate the gang, by making them feel unwanted. He creates the "Reyzors" which displeases the gang immensely.This leads to Neha feeling completely underconfident and makes her take the decision of leaving the D3 team in order to form a solo dance career. Aditya makes Sharon Rey's dancing partner, in order to create problems between Rey and Swayam. Swayam and Sharon end up going on a few dates, part of Swayam's wishlist, before their relationship is rudely brought to an end over a misunderstanding and a fight. Rey ends up slapping Swayam. Later, he realises his mistake when he finds out about Mr Khurrana's doings and takes his revenge by publicly insulting him at a press conference and bringing his gang into the limelight. The D3 team becomes one again, though the gang is unsure about whether they want to continue dancing. Sharon is unable to forgive Rey for creating a rift between Swayam and her. Rey decides to conduct a team building exercise and tells the Vice Principal about his idea. Sharon is put in charge of this exercise as she is the college GS. This exercise proves successful as the team is unified, though they take a promise never to dance again, for dance was the reason behind the drift caused between them. They win the team building exercise and are chosen organise the Ganesh Chaturthi Dance Festival. On the last day of the fest, Shivam challenges the D3 team for a face-off which eventually brings dance back into D3's life. Shivam brings dance back into the D3 gang with a plan of Rey and befriends Rey. Shivam is now a changed person.
However, Swayam and Sharon are still not together. Sharon is disappointed to see that Swayam no longer loves her as much as he did. She thinks about the good old times and plans to become history secret admirer. But everyone misunderstands this and think that Rey has a secret admirer. Swayam finally comes to know that Sharon is his secret admirer but keeps it a secret as well. Aashi declares herself as Rey's secret admirer to avoid further misunderstandings and fights with Sharon. Sharon and Swayam have a huge fight in the announcement cell about the secret admirer stuff and their relationship which the whole college hears. When Swayam says that he and Sharon were a couple in front of the D3 team, she disagrees to the fact saying that they never were or can be a couple. This finally results in a break-up, this time from Swayam's side.
After a while Rey talks with the VP and college management for affiliation for Dance from NYDA. The New York Dance Academy sends a student of theirs before taking any decision. To everyone's surprise and Rey's shock, it was none other than Kriya.
Kriya tries her best to win Rey back but Rey is angry with her and isn't nice to her. He always hurts her which results in Kriya dropping her idea of getting back with him. Sharon befriends Kriya to get closer to Swayam as Swayam is the only one who is nice to Kriya in the whole gang. During the annual day performance, Vicky and Nilesh lock Kriya in the store room after giving her spiked drink which results in Kriya getting hurt and reaching late for her performance with Rey. Rey, thinking that Krioya has ditched him again, decidded to perform alone but she reached just on time. Meanwhile, Swayam gets to know why Sharon is noce to Kriya and he tells her to stop pretending. He also says that he didn't break up with her because she is not a good person, but because she is not sure whether she loves him or not. Rey, Kriya, Swayam and Sharon, all are hurt and devastated even after performing their best at the function.
Slowly, Rey and Kriya become friends. Enters Ruhi, the VP's niece. He asks Swayam to befriend her. Unknown to anyone, Ruhi is secretly obssesed with Swayam. Sharon realises it, but Swayam doesn't believe her. During a hangout at Swayam's house, Ruhi gives an idea to the team about the theme of their musical - The story of their Dil, Dosti and Dance. Kriya is deported back to NY as her passport expires. During her absence, Rey realises his love for her. When she comes back, he expresses his love, but Kriya rejects him. Next day, Ruhi kidnaps Sharon and Rey and Swayam hatch a plan to catch her red-handed. Swayam reaches the place after following Ruhi but she poisons Sharon in front of him. She also tries to hurt Swayam but Rey and Kriya reach there on time.
Sharon is taken to hospital and is declared almost dead by the doctor when Swayam confesses his love for her, bringing her back to life. They both confess in front of everyone, making everyone happy. Kriya is emotional and tells Rey that they should be friends because what happened with Sharon, could happen to anyone. She doesn't want to lose him. Rey agrees.
The Dean of NYDA enters and the gang confesses to him that they had hacked the college account and sent them email for affiliation and visit. The Dean gets angry and wants to leave when Kriya tells him that they would show them their performance while they walk out of the college. The team performs live on spot and are appreciated by everyone.
The college get affiliation, and Rey praises Kriya in front of the press. When he decides to propose her finally, he gets to know that she was leaving for New York. He is heartbroken and is rude to Kriya. However, on the day of her departure, Rey proposes her in the middle of the road, on her way to airport and to his surprise, she accepts his proposal.
Everything flows smoothly for few day with Rey-Kriya and Swayam-Sharon making their relationship official. One day, Kriya gets an offer to work in a film and gets hurt while rehearsing a step with Rey. She is taken to hospital and the doctor declares that her backbone is badly injured and she can never dance again. Rey is devastated, so is Kriya. Rey decides to take Kriya to NY for treatment. They depart, leaving all the responsibility of Rey's dream on Swayam and Sharon's shoulders.
At this time, Raghav, Ishika, Huma and Karma are introduced. They all are dancers and have their own stories of struggle. St. Loius is hetting affiliation along with D3 academy. Sharon's mother trricks her and makes her a part of St. Loius while other gang members are a part of D3. Sharon is torn between her contract and friendship. Swayam becomes her biggest supporter meanwhile and pushes her to focus on her career.
For a dance event, Raghav, Ishika, Huma and Karma join team D3 but ditches them and dances for St. Loius at the last moment. The team is worried but Rey saves the day by reaching there on time and dancing his best foor forward. Team D3 wins and Karma is in guilt.
Slowly, everyone forgives Karma and on the graduation party, Rey reveals that Kriya has broken up with him. She felt that he has forgotten in dream to take of her. She has sent him back to persue his dream.
