Every show on itv is centered around the FL. Some shows focus more on FL and her relationship with her MIL. Show like rishta is centred around the jodi and FL's relationship with the in laws. Writers give FL pain not because they hate their characters but because that is what connects the trp audience with them and makes them sympathise with the FL. That's how itv works. Especially current itv.
