Red Task # 11

“Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for an exciting ride as we bring you live, play-by-play coverage of this new Holi game called Gulaal-e-Jung organized by someone who enjoys making the lives of the poor players ……. let’s leave it at that, shall we?”.

Here comes the players list.

Wait, we see that there are 5 teams.

What do you think of the players in each team guys? Is it a good combination, are they from different time zones?

I think it looks fine.

Here comes the referees Shreya, Parm, Shibani, Mrina, Riya, Kadyn and Yuvika walking in to the stadium erm.. I mean into their respective office rooms to sit in front of their laptops, with their megaphones, hats and binoculars just to look the part.

We don’t have time to read all the rules guys. They are on the display, go and read them.

Parm is ready to post the first part of the game. She took a deep breath and posted the first part. Is she expecting an explosion? Let’s see.

Ahoy, we can’t hear anything, what is going on? players are running around like headless chickens and swearing.

We were just told that after checking the first part, players have gone berserk.

Is it that bad? Let’s find out.

They are all bombarding the referees with questions.

Referee Parm is like “Yo, wait, you just need to give me a grid with numbers and their placement”.

Oh, ok! The whole place went silent for a second.

No, no, the peace did not last long.

Players are running in all directions and asking each other what to do.

Bap re, there is no Shanthi in this game!

Players started typing frantically and screaming Eureka.

Suddenly everyone started screaming, “oh yes, there are 9 tasks let’s start working on them”

They are attacking the tasks like there is no tomorrow.

Referee Shreya intervened and said, “Hello peeps, wait, pick 8 green tasks and 8 red tasks, place them in the empty cells and send us the grid. No need to worry about the tasks now. You have full 48 hours to complete them”.

Players almost attacked Shreya. They were heard screaming “How can you say that? There are points for completing lines before everyone else. We need to be ready”.

We heard referees murmuring "first send us the grid". After a while, they simply gave up and messaged each other in a private chat “whatever”.

We were told it is time for a swap. Time zone changes kicked in. Some players went to sleep and some just woke up. They did not realise what nightmare is awaiting them. They should have stayed in bed. Serves them right.

Why is Parm screaming now? Let’s find out what is going on there.

Referee Parm: The deadline is over guys. No response.

Referee Parm, hello knock knock. The deadline is over half an hour ago.

Panic buttons were pressed and conversation flew everywhere. “We gave our choices, we don’t know what happened after that”.

Referee Parm intervened again to make a suggestion. “Don’t worry about the teammates, whoever is awake, fill the empty cells with 8 green tasks and 8 red tasks”.

Phew! It looks like they all have managed to send the completed grids screaming for extra time of course!

We saw referees shaking their heads and saying “we told them that, all they have to do is, send the grid. They could not even do that on time.”

Look it is midnight and Parm posted the 2nd part of the game.

We heard the grids were swapped just like the players and right on cue, we heard commotion in all teams.

Oh boy, our ears are ringing. We will become deaf by the end of this game.

Referees told the players to go complete the tasks instead of worrying about the swapped grids.

We told ya, these players don’t like peace. They are finding ways to scream their lungs out.

There is a fight going on there, wait, we will turn the stump mic err, webcam on.

Player from GG, “I have completed the task in this forum”.

Another player from GG, “wait, it is not the right forum”.

Referee parm, “after finding the right forum you need to get comments as well”.

Original player, “no, it wasn’t mentioned on the grid”.

Referee Parm, “it was mentioned in the instructions”.

Other teammates, “what, what, what! What instructions?”

Referee has left and the game continued.

Someone else stood up with another question.

We left the webcam on for your convenience.

Players with puppy dog face went after the referees again. “Our team mates have gone MIA. Please allow us to complete the tasks”

Referees had a quick conference call and provided a solution which leaves every team with one task to complete on the third day.

Players tried to give excuses to complete the whole grid earlier.

Referees stuck to their guns and put their collective foots down.

It is drinks time, no dinner time, no lunch time. Whatever, we are going for a break and you also go for a break and come back sharp midnight for the second innings, I mean final part of the game.
