For me it depends on the journey. And Amruta's journey has been pathetic for me - in both the senses of the word - pitiful, saddening, and inadequately handled(by the writers). She always felt better off living alone somewhere with perhaps new people in her life. Since they wont go there, killing off the character is the next best option. For me her journey hasn't been worth it.
