They are your stories, you’re free to publish them wherever you wish to. But please don’t post links from other sites on IF to invite readers or advertise your story posted on other sites here.
It’s upto the judges, and they will be looking at ‘adherence to theme and rules’ as one of the factors, but if the rules have set a word count it’s expected the participants will follow it. It doesn’t have to be exactly 1200, we understand if it veers off a little which is why we give a 10% leeway but the word count is one way of equalising the entries. If one person writes a 500 word story and another writes a 2000 word one, they’re not really comparable, are they?Originally posted by: desidillse
