Congratulations New Zealand National Cricket Team (Mens) for winning 1st match of Champions Trophy 2025smiley20smiley32smiley40smiley41

Congratulations Tom Latham for winning POTMsmiley20smiley32smiley40smiley41

Pakistan National Cricket Team(Mens) started well while bowling, but conceded too many runs in last 10 overs. While batting, they played too conciously and played more dot balls. Also Fakhar Zaman was injured and Rizwan got out early

Winning Team -- NZ = 5/5 points

Man of the Match -- Tom Latham, I wrote Matt Henry so 0/15

Hit the most 4s -- Will Young, I wrote Devon Conway, 10 Points

Hit the most 6s -- Glenn Philips = 10 points

Taking highest wickets -- William O'Rourke (less economy than Santner), I wrote Matt Henry, so 0/10

Highest run scorer -- Tom Latham, but I wrote Kane Williamson, so 0/10

Total points for 1st Match for me = 15

Congratulations to New Zealand team for their first match victory in this tournament. smiley32

I expected that Pak will win this match comfortably. But, when they chose to bowl first, then it was certain that they are going to play a tough game.

A disappointing start for the defending champions as Pakistan slump to a defeat with some familiar patterns resurfacing. The bowlers are conceding far too many in the slog overs, and the batters are lacking the intent needed to keep up with ODI cricket in 2025. In the words of a famous coach from a different sport, maybe the time for ‘cosmetic changes’ is over, maybe it is time for ‘open heart surgery’ for Pakistan.

Details for today's match--

Bangladesh vs India, 2nd Match, Group A

Series: ICC Champions Trophy, 2025

Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai

Date & Time: Feb 20, 01:00 PM LOCAL

-------------------

Champions Trophy: Bangladesh vs India, Preview

Probable Playing 11---

India

Rohit Sharma is likely to field three left arm spinners and despite a promising outing against England for Harshit Rana, veteran Mohammed Shami is likely to get the nod to start and build his rhythm right for the tournament.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh

Bangladesh

Should conditions favour fast bowling, Bangladesh will not be caught out cold given they're experiencing a sudden and welcome spurt in fast bowling options. Tearaway quick Nahid Rana will in the spotlight against the famed Indian top-order.

Probable XI: Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali / Towhid Hridoy, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Tanzim Sakib/ Mustafizur Rahman
