I think it was always going to be a happy ending based on a KRQ IV that I saw where he bashed Ammar's character and mentions how Sadaf due to her prejudice against Bilal chose the wrong guy Ammar. From what I hear tampering with KRQ's script is not permitted so would they really change the ending he wrote?

It may not have been sold on his name but his character and performance was trashed the most by every critic. His reviews for QEJ while good are not bringing him some incredibly rave reviews or granting him groundbreaking popularity. He is good there and that is about it. Just goes to show that all the gloom and doom about SMD is wishful thinking and hopeful manifesting out of anger at the 2 leads for various reasons. SMD is a shit show but it is not going to affect any of the actor's in the long run.

SMD is not sold on Usama's name. Usama is not an A-lister that projects ride on his name. He was also never known for his acting skills so his good enough performance in QEJ is the best review he has gotten for his acting and multiple people have mentioned that it helps remove the taitnt from his SMD performance. QEJ is good enough for him to get more projectson Hum as it shows that with the right director and team, he can do better, that he has the potenial.

it was always going to be a happy ending because krq only kills off his hero if its a ML-centric story. This wasnt a ML-centric story nor was Bilal an imp enough cktr to be killed off by krq. I have said many times that SMD is very similar to kRQ's own drama Manjali. In Manjali, in last episode, Mehwish gets divorced from Mikaal who manipulated her into marrying him. She then reunites with Faris Shafi, the selfless pure guy who was in love with her from the start.

This scene in particular was beautiful. I think it’s a generally beautiful scene to come after a Nikkah for any characters but it worked very well for Bilal Abdullah in particular. The first episode, he was drinking and was with an escort…engaging in toxic behaviour basically. Then we see this moment of purity which exhibited his growth as a person. There was also that scene in the first or second episode where Mirza Saab is praying and Bilal tells his employee to tell him when it’s maghrib time but not because he will pray..he kind of laughs it off but just to be respectful. And now we see him starting his new life off with prayer. Mirza Saab said he would always make dua for him during his namaaz. He would be proud of him.

Main chali dekhne. And I know that I’ll like it. Hopeless romantic

Yeah I am seeing two extreme reactions, some loving the last 10 minutes while other bashing it and calling it cringe, but that is expected from the usual fans and antis....both adverse opinions.
