Ghum’s track record isn’t very promising sis. I wouldn’t believe cockroach as far I could throw myself. ( which isn’t very far ). They are the worst. They don’t blink twice before making a character unbearable. They butcher characters for TRPs without remorse.

Ghum as a show had the worst characterizations; Sai was a brat. She was immature and stubborn. Because anyone with even 0.000001% would have run afar from Chavan mansion after being turned off multiple times. Just when people though she would choose a different life for herself she chose toxicity all over again.

Virat played the sympathy card, was downright abusive & awful at most all the times. It was always the case of too late, too little with him.

as for actors I would not like to comment in a public forum, but they were just as equally as bad. Patralekha is creepy and there’s nothing that justifies hitting on her brother in law who happens to be “married”. Her pining should have been in her thoughts alone, not in actions, but she literally tried to force herself upon him at every opportunity. Actors shouldn’t justify their character’s actions because she happened to be engaged / married to the lead.

The performance of the actors did not flatter the bad characterizations hence the toxicity off screen and on screen.

What is funny is that I first started watching the show for Neil Bhatt because I found him quite decent, but as the show proceeded I was disgusted 10x and then I couldn't watch at all.

I will never understand the Sairat fandom. How could they find anything to like between them once Neil-Aishwarya relationship was confirmed. I couldn't separate Pakhis bitchiness from her attitude to Ayesha offscreen. And ayesha I don't like her work at all, I will only give her credit for putting up with those two for so long!

I came back to the show later when Bhavika was cast. It didn't last long though because the Bhosles including Ishan were toxic af. And now back because of Param. Let's see how long I stick around this time.

I’ll never know why they killed Ishaan I mean he wasn’t a great husband - he was a bad one, but ngl I was legit surprised when they replaced Shakti.

SaRaj had potential. They shouldn’t have copied YHM - at least not word for word. Savi wasn’t Ishita. She needed someone who could support her after her huge loss , not aggravate it. Rajat did nothing to help her.

YHM was a cult classic despite being toxic. Ekta could pull it off but Cockroach failed miserably.

One thing is they never gave any light moments for Savi and Rajat, which was the USP of YHM. Leads had plenty of drama but the light moments were the ones that helped people endure the rest. YHM had so many dramatic tracks but never compromised with the screen time for the leads. SaRaj ke liye toh - like someone said in the forum, it was the Arsh Gujral show

That said I personally liked SaRaj over all. Bhavika and Hitesh had potential, which sadly wasn’t recognized by the PH.

I don't think it is really done any more by default, and only when the woman also wants it. But I think him calling by a name only he has given her comes from that thought process. The Pradhans have also been shown as quite traditional and I think that also carries a faint sense of misogyny - I mean, imagine losing your complete identity after marriage where even your first name is no longer the same!!

I think still many families do....even in first version if not of Kamal Sir's given name Sai bhi change karti....traditional setup toh hai but Neil's house is somewhat modern than CN.....

I have the same opinion as you. Ayesha endured a lot. Neil & Aishwariya were as petty as their characters on screen. It just made toxicity so much more.

I don’t have flattering opinions about their acting either.
