🤗 Hug Day – A Moment of Solace

The ETF headquarters was running as usual—files being scanned, reports being analyzed, and cases being discussed. But Ayesha felt a lingering weight in the air. Maybe it was because of the promise Sameer had made her on Promise Day, or maybe it was something deeper.

She had kept the black envelope tucked inside her drawer, next to the small teddy bear he had given her earlier. It wasn’t just a gift anymore—it was a reminder. A reminder that someone was there, watching out for her. Someone who refused to let her fight alone.

But did she want to rely on him?

The question gnawed at her, even as she distracted herself with work.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Sakshi came bouncing into the common area, excitement bubbling in her voice.

"Guys! Aaj Hug Day hai!"

Shree groaned. "Sakshi, tu phir se shuru ho gayi?"

Chotu smirked. "Arey, par sochne wali baat hai. ETF ke log agar kisi ko hug karein, toh ya toh woh banda bohot lucky hoga… ya toh bohot musibat mein!"

Liza chuckled, looking up from her forensic reports. "Haan, bilkul. Imagine Rathore Sir kisi ko hug kar rahe hain—poora office shock mein chala jaayega!"

The thought made everyone chuckle, but Ayesha found herself unable to smile.

Hugs.

She had never really thought about them before.

She had never been the kind of person who gave or received casual hugs. For her, a hug wasn’t just a gesture—it was a moment of vulnerability. A moment where you let someone close enough to feel the weight of your emotions.

And she never let anyone that close.

But today, something about the idea of a hug lingered in her mind, unsettling yet strangely comforting.

The case had been a rough one.

A kidnapping gone wrong had led to a chaotic chase, gunfire, and an injured civilian. Ayesha had spent hours on the field, tracking down the suspects, ensuring everyone was safe, and handling the intense aftermath.

And now, she was exhausted.

Standing near her SUV, she ran a hand through her hair, exhaling sharply. The weight of the day sat heavy on her shoulders.

That’s when she heard footsteps approaching.

She turned and found Sameer Rathore walking toward her, his face unreadable as always.

For a second, neither of them spoke.

Then, Sameer’s eyes narrowed slightly as he observed her. "You okay?"

Ayesha scoffed, shaking her head. "Sir, yeh sawal toh aap nahi puchte."

Sameer didn’t smile. He stepped closer, his voice low and steady. "Main puch raha hoon, Ayesha."

Something about the way he said it made her chest tighten.

She swallowed hard, looking away. "Bas thodi si thakaan hai. Din lamba tha."

Sameer studied her for a long moment before exhaling. "Ayesha… main jaanta hoon ke tum sab kuch andar rakhti ho."

Ayesha’s jaw clenched. "Main fine hoon, Rathore."

"Jhoot mat bolo." His voice was soft, but firm.

She snapped her head up, her gaze sharp. "Mujhe aadat hai, Sameer. Main apni problems khud handle karti hoon."

Sameer sighed, as if this was exactly what he had expected her to say.

"Jaan’ta hoon." His voice dropped even lower. "Par kabhi kabhi… kisi aur pe bharosa karna zaroori hota hai."

Ayesha’s throat felt dry. She hated how easily he saw through her.

A long silence stretched between them.

Then, before she could react, Sameer closed the distance between them.

And wrapped his arms around her.

Ayesha stiffened instantly.

Her brain screamed at her to push him away, to put her walls back up, to pretend like she didn’t need this.

But her body?

Her body betrayed her.

She didn’t move.

She didn’t step back.

She didn’t even breathe.

Sameer held her—not too tight, not too loose. Just enough. Just enough to let her feel that she wasn’t alone.

It wasn’t an overpowering, suffocating embrace. It was steady, grounding, warm. A silent reassurance. A quiet strength.

Ayesha hated herself for how much she needed it.

After what felt like an eternity, she whispered hoarsely, "Sameer… yeh kya kar rahe ho?"

His grip on her tightened slightly. "Jo tumhe kab se chahiye, par tum maang nahi sakti."

Ayesha’s eyes burned.

She wanted to step away.

She wanted to say something cutting, something sarcastic—anything to deflect from the way her heart was pounding.

But she couldn’t.

So, for just a moment, she let herself stay.

Just this once.

Sameer didn’t rush her. He didn’t push.

He just stood there, holding her together, even when she refused to admit she was breaking apart.

And maybe… just maybe… she let him.

Ayesha sat on her bed, staring at her reflection in the mirror.

She had never been the type to need physical comfort. Never the type to lean on someone.

And yet, today…

Her fingers touched her arms, as if she could still feel the warmth of Sameer’s embrace.

With a shaky breath, she reached for her drawer—the one where the teddy bear and the black envelope sat.

This time, she didn’t hesitate.

She pulled the small bear out, held it close for a brief second, and then placed it next to her pillow.

Maybe, just this once…

She wouldn’t fight it.

The way you portray the hug as more than just a simple gesture—depicting it as a breakthrough, a step toward trust, and an act of bravery in opening oneself up—through this update is truly beautifulsmiley27

💋 Kiss Day – A Moment of Weakness, A Moment of Fire

The office was nearly empty.

A long and exhausting case had finally wrapped up, leaving the entire team drained. Shree and Chotu had already left after Liza convinced them to grab dinner outside. Sakshi, too, had gone home early, claiming she had some work to finish.

But Ayesha was still here.

She sat at her desk, flipping through files absentmindedly, but her mind was far from the paperwork in front of her. Her mind was stuck on yesterday.

On Sameer’s arms around her.

On the way she had let herself melt, just for a moment.

On how she had let her guard down.

Her fingers instinctively brushed over her arm, as if still feeling the warmth of his embrace.

Damn it.

This wasn’t supposed to happen.

She had spent years building walls, keeping herself from leaning on anyone. And yet, with just one hug, Sameer Rathore had cracked through her defenses like it was nothing.

And what was worse?

A part of her… hadn’t minded.

She exhaled sharply, shaking her head. No. She couldn’t go down that road.

Her gaze shifted toward Sameer’s cabin. The light was still on. He was still here.

Of course he was.

Because Rathore never left first.

She debated leaving, but before she could make a decision, her phone vibrated.

A message. From Sameer.

"Mere cabin mein aao. Abhi."

Ayesha frowned. What now?

Sighing, she got up and made her way toward his cabin, pushing open the glass door without hesitation.

Sameer was leaning against his desk, arms crossed, his face unreadable as always.

The moment Ayesha entered, he looked up.

She raised an eyebrow. "Kya hua? Koi naya case aa gaya?"

Sameer didn’t answer immediately. Instead, his gaze traveled over her face, studying her.

Ayesha shifted uncomfortably. "Sir?"

He finally spoke, his voice calm but firm. "Baitho."

She hesitated, then pulled out a chair and sat down. "Aap mujhe yahan kyun bulaya?"

Sameer didn’t reply right away. He walked around his desk, stopping right in front of her, his hands resting on the wooden surface. His piercing gaze locked onto hers.

"Ayesha," he said, his voice lower than usual. "Kal raat jo hua… uske baare mein baat karni hai."

Ayesha stiffened. "Kya baat karni hai?"

He narrowed his eyes slightly. "Matlab tum pretend kar rahi ho ki kuch hua hi nahi?"

Ayesha clenched her jaw. This is exactly what she had been trying to avoid.

She exhaled sharply, standing up. "Sir, mujhe nahi lagta ki is baare mein koi discussion ki zaroorat hai."

Sameer stood up straighter, his eyes darkening. "Mujhe lagta hai, Ayesha."

Their gazes clashed—hers defensive, his unrelenting.

For a moment, the air between them felt too thick, too charged.

Finally, Sameer sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Mujhe bas ek baat batao."

Ayesha crossed her arms. "Kya?"

Sameer stepped closer.

Too close.

Close enough that she could feel the heat radiating from him.

His voice dropped lower, almost a whisper. "Tumhe sach mein laga… ki main tumhe khudse door jaane dunga?"

Ayesha’s heart skipped a beat.

What was he saying?

She opened her mouth to respond, but before she could—

Sameer reached out.

And gently, lightly, his fingers brushed against her cheek.

Ayesha sucked in a sharp breath.

She should move. She should say something.

But she didn’t.

She couldn’t.

Sameer’s touch wasn’t demanding. It was careful, hesitant, as if waiting for her to stop him.

But she didn’t stop him.

His fingers trailed lightly along her jawline, his thumb grazing the corner of her lips. His dark eyes never left hers, watching, waiting.

"Ayesha," he murmured, his voice impossibly soft.

Ayesha swallowed.

She should step back.

She should say something sarcastic, push him away, pretend like none of this affected her.

But she didn’t.

Instead, before she could second-guess herself, before her walls could come crashing back—

She moved forward.

Just slightly.

Just enough.

And that was all the permission Sameer needed.

His lips touched hers.

It wasn’t rushed.

It wasn’t forceful.

It was warm. Slow. Unbelievably gentle.

Like a whisper.

Like a promise.

Ayesha’s fingers curled into fists at her sides, her mind screaming at her to stop, to pull away, to not let this happen.

But she didn’t move.

Because, in that moment, for the first time in forever…

She didn’t want to fight it.

Sameer’s lips pressed against hers, lingering, waiting, as if giving her a chance to break away.

But she didn’t.

Instead, her hands slowly, hesitantly, reached up.

One rested on his shoulder.

The other gripped his shirt.

And then, just like that—

She kissed him back.

A soft exhale left Sameer’s lips as he deepened the kiss ever so slightly, his hand moving to the small of her back, pulling her in just a fraction closer.

Ayesha shivered at the sensation.

How had they ended up here?

She didn’t know.

And right now…

She didn’t care.

When they finally pulled apart, their breaths were uneven, their foreheads resting against each other.

Ayesha’s eyes were still closed, her heart hammering inside her chest.

Sameer exhaled, his fingers still lingering against her jaw.

"Ab bhi pretend karogi ki kuch nahi hua?" he murmured.

Ayesha slowly opened her eyes, meeting his gaze head-on.

And for once—just once—she didn’t look away.

She swallowed, her voice quiet but firm.

"Sameer… main nahi jaanti ki yeh kya hai."

Sameer’s lips curved slightly.

"Jo bhi hai… ek baar maan kar toh dekho."

Ayesha’s fingers unconsciously tightened against his shirt.

She didn’t reply.

She couldn’t.

Because deep down, she already knew—

She was too far gone to turn back now.

👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏻 Valentine’s Day – A Night of Unspoken Confessions

The office was quiet. Too quiet.

Shree, Chotu, Liza, and Sakshi had left hours ago after another long day of investigation. The desks were deserted, files stacked neatly, and the sound of the city outside barely filtered through the glass windows.

But two people remained.

Ayesha sat at her desk, pretending to work while her eyes kept drifting toward the cabin at the far end. The lights were still on inside.

Sameer Rathore was still there.

Her fingers curled around the pen in her hand, her mind running in a thousand directions. She should leave. She should just get up and go home.

But she didn’t.

Because tonight was Valentine’s Day.

And after everything that had happened over the past week—the rose, the proposal, the chocolates, the hug, and then… that kiss—things between her and Sameer had changed.

And now, she didn’t know where she stood with him.

Was it a mistake? Was it something more? Did he regret it?

The uncertainty was driving her insane.

Taking a deep breath, she finally stood up. Enough. She needed answers.

Without giving herself time to second-guess her decision, she marched toward his cabin and pushed the glass door open.

Sameer was seated behind his desk, absorbed in a file, but the moment she entered, he looked up.

Ayesha hesitated for a split second, but then she crossed her arms. "Aap ab tak yahan kya kar rahe hain?"

Sameer raised an eyebrow. "Yahi sawal main tumse bhi pooch sakta hoon, Ayesha."

She ignored that. "Aaj Valentine’s Day hai… aur aap yahan kaam kar rahe hain?"

A slow smirk tugged at the corner of Sameer’s lips. "Toh?"

Ayesha inhaled sharply. Why was he making this difficult?

"Tch. Aap na… impossible hain," she muttered, shaking her head before turning to leave.

But before she could take another step—

Sameer spoke.

"Ayesha."

She stilled.

"Ruko."

Ayesha clenched her fists. She shouldn’t turn back. She should just walk out and pretend like none of this affected her.

But she didn’t.

Instead, she turned, and when she did—

Sameer was standing right in front of her.

She hadn’t even heard him move.

Her breath caught.

"Aap—"

But before she could say anything more, Sameer lifted his hand, holding something small between his fingers.

Ayesha’s eyes flickered down.

A tiny velvet box.

Her heart skipped a beat. "Yeh…?"

Sameer exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Main jaanta hoon ki tum abhi bhi confuse ho… lekin Ayesha, main ek baat clear karna chahta hoon."

She swallowed. "Kya?"

Sameer’s eyes locked onto hers, intense and unwavering. "Main kabhi bhi half-measures nahi leta. Na kaam mein, na feelings mein."

Her breath hitched.

He took another step closer, his voice dropping lower. "Aur tumhare saath jo ho raha hai… main usse ignore karne waalon mein se nahi hoon."

Ayesha didn’t realize she was holding her breath until her chest started to ache.

"Aur tum?" he asked softly.

Ayesha blinked. "Kya?"

Sameer tilted his head, his fingers tightening slightly around the velvet box. "Tum ignore kar sakti ho, Ayesha?"

Could she?

She wanted to say yes. She wanted to pretend like her heart wasn’t hammering, like she wasn’t feeling an unfamiliar warmth curling inside her.

But she couldn’t.

Because she knew the truth.

She was already in too deep.

She swallowed hard. "Sameer…"

Sameer’s lips curled slightly. "Itna sochna zaroori hai?"

Ayesha glared at him. "Aap… mujhe irritate kar rahe hain."

He chuckled, and then—without warning—he took her hand and placed the velvet box in her palm.

She stiffened at the sudden warmth of his touch.

"Kholo," he instructed.

Ayesha hesitated.

But then, slowly, she opened the box.

Inside was a delicate silver bracelet.

Simple. Elegant. Subtle.

Yet somehow, it felt personal.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she ran them over the cool metal. "Yeh…" She looked up at him, searching his face. "Yeh mujhe kyun…?"

Sameer smirked slightly. "Koi rule hai kya ki sirf chocolates aur teddy bears diye jaate hain Valentine’s Day pe?"

Ayesha bit her lip, looking away.

Sameer’s expression softened. "Ayesha, yeh bas ek gift nahi hai."

She glanced back at him.

"Kya tum samajh rahi ho?" he asked quietly.

Ayesha held his gaze. And she did.

This was a promise.

That he wasn’t playing games. That this wasn’t just a passing moment.

That whatever was between them mattered.

Her fingers tightened around the box. Her throat felt tight, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her.

Sameer studied her face carefully, and then—he reached out.

His fingers brushed against her wrist as he took the bracelet and slowly clasped it around her hand.

Ayesha sucked in a sharp breath at the sensation.

His fingers were warm against her skin.

Gentle. Steady.

When he was done, his thumb lingered against the delicate curve of her wrist.

Ayesha’s heart pounded.

Slowly, she lifted her eyes to meet his.

And in that moment—she knew.

There was no going back.

She had already fallen.

And so had he.

The space between them disappeared.

Sameer reached out, his hand curling around her waist. Ayesha didn’t resist.

And then—

his lips brushed against her forehead.

Soft. Warm. A silent confession.

Ayesha closed her eyes, letting herself sink into the moment.

Letting herself accept what she had been too afraid to acknowledge.

Because this time… she wasn’t running.

This time…

She was his.

The End.
