Writers, you’ll have two distinct sets of tropes: Set A that delineates storylines & Set B that describes settings &/or the leads’ traits. You will pick a trope combination Set A + Set B and write a 500 word story (OS) with at LEAST ONE character chosen from the Fictional Character list given.

• Does it HAVE to be romantic? Or can it be about friendship too?: This one is ALL about romance, because the tropes fit best with Romance. However, we'll have other contests for Platonic love
• And open ending chalega as long as it's not tragic or sad?: yeah, open ending is ok, but it should be a hopeful one, not tragic.

There is no sign up as such. If you want to write and have a graphicer set up to pair with you, go ahead write and submit your entr/ies by March 2nd. You can still write your story even if you don't have a graphicer to team up with right now, just that an entry will be considered COMPLETE only if it has both Story + Book Cover. So in order to avoid a last minute scramble, we advise that you have someone lined up to make your Book Cover for you.

You can also reach out to /tag another graphicer from another team to ask them to help you out - they're allowed to make as many Book Covers for as many writers as they're willing to. The 5 story limit is only for the writers.

Also, yes, you understood correctly, you don't have to stick to original character traits from canon.

Sure, you can do the second thing, have A as the main character dating another character of your choice and include B as a supporting character.
