He assumed she wanted to move on after 3 points. 1 was when he himself out a false complaint to get her license cancelled so that she moves on (which he regretted later & did what was required to get it back & didn't take any credit or let her know it was him). 2nd was when he assumed she wanted to have the divorce finalised on Basant Panchami (when in fact it was his mother & not Abhira). 3rd was when he saw her hold RK's hand when RK was proposing to Abhira. These were the reasons he assumed Abhira had moved on from him. Which thankfully Abhira resolved & beat him up so that he gets it in his heard head that she wants him in her life as much as he wants her

Abhir ke wajah se divorce nahi hua tha par Abhir is foremost among her family members who doesn't give two craps about how she's doing or feeling and use bas uski padi hoti hai. Just like Vidya and KP in Armaan's life. Tho basically I guess Abhira shouldn't also prioritise these shallow family members like Abhir or MG or Ruhi for that matter just like Armaan shouldn't Vidya or KP or anyone else.
