The goons were men loyal to a councillor(Not sure, but hope I heard it right) who had been arrested, and they came to capture Dhananjay, a lawyer and the elder brother of Digvijay. They were protesting the councillor's arrest, an event that hadn't been depicted in previous episodes.

The brief details provided were mentioned by Dhananjay's Bade-papa in just a sentence or two while they were held captive by the goons. These details were not emphasized enough for the viewers to take note of unless they were paying close attention to the episode.

It’s possible that the makers plan to reveal the circumstances leading up to the incident later and what was Dhananjay's role in it.

So far, Dhananjay has been portrayed in a negative light, with little emphasis on his positive side. He has been shown doubting his wife’s character without any valid reason and blaming her for his failures. Digvijay also commented once that Dhananjay isn’t a hardworking person indirectly. However, in episode 11, although Dhananjay initially hid behind the pillar when goons came, but later shown to be someone who couldn’t bear to see his family suffer because of him. In the following episode, he showed concern when he saw his wife, Madhuri, crying. I feel like Dhananjay must have done something wrong and is hiding it from the family.

The first EDT was for first 7 episodes.

The 2nd was for next 7 episodes (Ep 8 to Ep14)

3rd EDT will be from Episode 15 to 21 ie. 13th Feb to 19 February.
