I think he's hiding because he doesn't want to face her. And because she's there with RK. He may think that she's going to tell him about the proposal and that she has moved on with RK. He's not ready to face it.

I usually laugh when they hide in the cupboard to cry but i felt really bad after looking at the bts. Why is he such an idiot:(
