I have stayed away from Ghum Season 1 and Season 2 (till Hitesh was introduced) despite liking Neel and Shakti from their previous shows as I don't like love triangles. But in season 3, I feel the love triangle makes a bit sense as most girls in their young age have been fans of a certain rockstar or actor and have wished for a fairytale love story. But life happens, and they are married to someone who is opposite of that rockstar heartthrob.
Ghum is famous for making everything toxic but I hope this time, they follow a more mid 2000s or early 2010s route.
Like Tejaswini has a strong crush on Ruturaj but gets married to Dr. Neelkant due to circumstances (which shouldn't be Tejaswini's parents death or something related to Tejaswini's family because I'm tired of seeing the same old trope of female lead getting married because of death in her family or to save her family).
So after marriage, Neel tries to make Tejaswini happy albeit awkwardly, but all his attempts fall flat because his attempts to make his wife happy are not what she wants and Tejaswini remains cold towards him as she's still not over Ruturaj. For some time this continues. But one day, Tejaswini is frustrated fighting her unrequited feelings for Ruturaj and Neel's persistence to woo her and she has an outburst in front of Neel where she compares Neel with Ruturaj and specifically tells the points where Neel is inferior to Ruturaj.
Neel is hurt and stops hoping Tejaswini would ever love him though he is always tender towards Tejaswini and helps her in her need. With time, Tejaswini starts appreciating Neel and getting over her feelings for Ruturaj. And one day, she realizes she too has started loving Neel back.
Then some calamity strikes and Tejaswini has to choose to save Ruturaj betraying Neel which costs Neel a lot and separate from Neel due to some majboori or even blackmail. Broken, Neel leaves the country.
Cue: Leap of three/five years. Tejaswini worries about Neel as she doesn't know where he is and how he is. Neel returns maybe as a hotshot businessman/even a rockstar with a 180 degree transformation in attitude and personality. Tejaswini and Neel again collide. Tejaswini in disgusted by his 2.0 version though at the same time being pulled towards him. They have some angst-ridden moments which Tejaswini dreamed earlier to have with Ruturaj. One day, Neel has an outburst before Tejaswini: "This is exactly what you wanted in a lover." To which Tejaswini replies: "I don't want this. I want pehle wala Neel." Something like that and specifies how previous Neel was better than this new one.
I think Param can play both the qualities very well as he has played a pretend-casanova and heartthrob character in show Haiwan and he excels in angst-ridden chemistry as in Sadda Haq and Ishq Pe Zor Nahi. Vaibhavi would also look good in a character who doesn't only think about her duty and has her own desires and preferences when it comes to love. Sanam would look great as a gray shaded character.
