There is a scene in a Tamil film on the life of Karna…not sure if it figures in the original Mahabharat ..unlikely though…so anyway the scene is that Karna is playing some kind of board game with Bhanumati, the wife of Duryodhan …they are lost in banter when Duryodhan enters the room…Karna’s back is to the door and so he doesn’t notice ..Bhanu sees her husband though and is about to rise ..Karna thinks she’s trying to get away because she’s about to lose the game ..he reaches out to hold her when he accidentally breaks the ornament she’s wearing around her waist ..it is made of beads that scatter all around…both Karna and Bhanu are shocked and wonder how Duryodhan is going to react ..he merely says they should pick up the beads and get them strung again..the purpose of the scene is to establish the level of trust and friendship between Duryodhan, Bhanu and Karna ..just a little example of good and effective writing that has a larger point to make 🤷🏻‍♀️
