Armaan's core character trait has always been his guilt for his family. He will literally lay his life for them. So while ut annoyed me that he chose to do what his mother said, it did not surprise me.

But despite that, Armaan never once justified that what he did was right. He always says he needed to do it because his mother needed him to do it for her. That shows me that his moral centre is still strong. Also this very guilt was what pushed him to clear her name, as he understood that his actions hav not just defeated the hope of their reunion, but the Abhira's spirit as well. That shows his empathetic trait is also very much there.

And his crazy antics behind Abhira's stuff in the Barni shows us just how obsessed ge still is with Abhira. So pyaar bhi hai. Now it's Abhira's choice whether to disregard everything & go back, or walk away from it all. Be it real life or fiction, either way we can never really stop someone from making decisions (right or wrong) about their life partner.

My point was only that Armaan is hurting, he is suffering, he is realising. His core is still intact. One wrong decision does not undo all of this in my books atleast, specially if he chooses to work towards rectifying his mistake

The funny thing here is how the narrative of the judgements swings from fiction to reality only when it comes to Armaan.. baaki koi kare tho writers are making them so it par Armaan Ki baari aayi tho yardstick shifts to how real life works in terms of repercussions for him!! Hadd Hai..

Armaan's character has been the one character that has been consistently written with his core traits intact. He falls weak when it comes to his family, especially mother. He goes into self blame mode everytime something wrong around him especially if it's triggered by some action of his. He feels indebted to his family for giving him an identity. He feels a certain right over Abhira and likes being her home. These are facts and have been showed over and over.

He makes mistakes with right intentions but wrong results.., when pushed to a corner by his family he folds but also tries to salvage the situation the way he thinks is right but more often than not it's wrong. These are also facts and have been showed again and again.

But suddenly to say no one would want to live with a life partner like that is a very real life perception cos honestly Abhira isn't real. she has been written also in a way that somehow understands Armaan with all of his faults. Atleast in that one aspect she's always been consistent. Her inconsistencies are more with other characters, especially how she fails to question the wrongs by Goenkas or Poddar seniors the way she used to. But with Armaan she has fought, cried, been hurt, been rash in decision making but somehow circled back to understanding them.

So when both the lead characters are written a certain way, why should one be judged by real life standards? Beats me!
