Karan was already trying to make a love angle in the show. Even Nyra said in one interview that Karan was trying a make an angle with her but she maintained the distance (though her words looked very elaborated). If Chum was really not into it she would have maintained the distance like others did.

One day she will be talking about her relationship outside the house, next day she will be seen in bathroom with karan (Okay lets believe they were doing nothing in the bathroom) what about the kambal thing? One morning Karan pull her towards himself for a morning hug. That was odd.

Chum is getting hate not because is a girl and she can be blamed easily. No. She is getting hate because she was playing along only to stay in the house.

If she was playing as an indiviual player I would have said she derserve to be in Top 5 because she gave her 100% in the task(other than that she was most invisible in the show). But no one can deny she choosed Karan and her angle as a shortcut to reach the finale.

Even Eisha's game was falling flat so she picked a love angle with Avinash. Both girls used the love angle to move ahead in the show. Also BB played a major role in it, they kept hinting them about the love angle. When Eisha is getting the hate for creating a fake love angle with Avi then why not Chum.

I said this earlier. Karan and Chum's angle is not organic. It seems so forced. You're correct that she put more effort into it after she was told she wasn't playing well. She consistently rejected it first and then once she realized that people like them together she decided to go with it. She wouldn't have came this far without the support of Karan,Shilpa, and Shrutika. Karan too didn't do jack during the first 6 weeks and was spoon fed by so many: Sandip, Hina, Farah, etc.

I agree Chum was favored by channel because of Karan. Other than that everything you mentioned is bulls#it.

If Karan was looking for angle bash him. It is easy to bash a girl. Karan has license to flirt but Chum should act saint. Flirting is crime for a girl but not for boys.
it is easy to point finger at a girl’s image she should have behaved. Karan can get away with all his bad deeds. .

After first nomination she was told to get out of kitchen and be active and she did.
she was never told that she was not doing well.

Chum must be using Karan for the show or must be genuinely like him. In both cases it is fine. Why does it matter? It is both ways. Even Karan must be using her for creating romance angle or must have given a serious thought we may not know.

Chum rejected him few times. The moment she went for it, let us target her image. She is planning to use him. She is only doing all romance angle for the game. She is cunning. She is cheating her ex. He was her ex. What cheating?

She has been getting therapy for years. Didn't need trollers to start it. If you saw her Sid Kannan interview, she talks about it. And she has phases of depression. She literally lost every loved one and the one man and only person she has truly as her own, BB used his misquote against her. Probably the intent was for her to fight and be more active, but she lost her will to be in the show and as her fan, it was obvious from her usual behaviors. Also, KVM attacked her with it going below the belt when she had a small panic attack. Hence she was enraged. Should she have said it? No. But it was a moment of anger and many have said similar things. I want to burst his head (C for Avinash). What does that mean? But it's all selective. And she never liked KVM since he said he used her to satisfy his ego. It feels so cheap to hear that. But the haters and trollers are never ending and bashing her.

There's more to her gory past that we learned in that long interview. And what's another reason for her depression is bad timing. Her maternal cousin got married in December. She likely met some relatives who probably weren't in touch with her and we all know how some nasty relatives can be. Felt that added to it as well. As online trolling, including PR/media of KVM. The IF reporter was the worst. And if any of these reporters call them chugli gang or character assassinator, they need to check their mirror and throw away their paychecks as well. Because they literally do chuglis for profession and link and unlink couples based on SM post. Is that not CA? In fact all have done it. Trollers just went after them and if they continue, I hope they get taste of their own medicine.
