Most of the female critics I feel can't differentiate between the characters and the actors..just because they felt that it was uncomfortable to watch hero being heavily drunk ,that doesn't mean that the main problem is in the acting.

Also,I think Wahaj doesn't drink in real life...so even if he went a bit OTT in the "heavily drunk" scene..its okay to ignore.

i think there was performance issue in the end esp where he was sitting on his knees. it went from showy but restrained in early parts to showy & contrived towards the end (in the way drunk acting was in 90s bollywood films), the drunken eyes, the weird way he held his mouth, the weird slurring but not slurring, stumbling - it was too many things all dialed to 100. it should've been one or two elements less or if you have so many elements, you need to dial them down a notch. there's a way to do ott and way not to do it. good ott acting still knows where to rein it in, how much to dial it up. in the early parts of the screen, that balance was there but got lost in that part where he is sitting on his knees.

I was listening to twitter space now...and it seems like everyone loved the scene in epi 28 between Bilal and Sadaf...and they were appreciating the "eye chemistry " between them..and how its difficult to show chemistry between the leads in one sided love.

This is what I was saying that I think most people will have a problem with the male lead drinking again. He turned over a new leaf and he was literally the only character people were rooting for. I don’t know how acceptable it will be for people to see. They don’t want to see him like that especially at this point in the story.

I personally don’t mind because I prefer it to a character being too perfect. It’s why I liked the anger too. It makes him more human and relapsing is very realistic. They didn’t concentrate on his journey enough, especially in recent episodes. So it feels like he just came back to start drinking again. Seeing him reaching for alcohol and earlier episodes but resisting because of the change in his life would have been great to see. I liked the scene where he was about to drink but thought he would lose Sadaf if he did and immediately stopped. Scenes like that, obviously with different motivation since Sadaf is married would have been effective post marriage too. Like just loving Sadaf and knowing she’s happy was enough to keep him sober. Unfortunately, they just forgot about him right after the wedding.

@bold exactly this..post sadaf marriage with ammar, they should have at least showed some individual journey of Bilal..because right now the whole show is focusing on how Bilal was a better option for Sadaf than Ammar..

If they focused a little bit more on Bilal's journey after sadaf marriage, than his dialogues on how love makes you a better person would have been more impactful.

The main problem of the show is the character development...I mean the characters are not written in a way where you can connect with them..because of less backstory or less impactful scenes..but if you talk about emotions and feels, than I think its very much there...I mean I am at least getting what the writer wants to show...despite showing heavily flawed series of events.

Yeah, the end where he was asking who the guy was? I found it a bit much there too. I liked the performance before that though.

I'm listening to the smd space and they said the exact same thing i did about wahaj's performance being bad in the end where he is sitting on his knees (they liked his performance in the beginning of that scene, which i did too). they also said that it was too many ott elements all crammed in at once - crossed eyes, slurred speech, poor motor skills, raspy voice, open hanging mouth - and that haseeb should have told wahaj to take it down a notch and done a retake, or focused the camera on hira's face.

yes this and also the gaps are too big in between these scenes and screen time the other scenes are taking up end up taking away from other scenes too. Youforget what happened from before. There’s a lot of things that Bilal says early on that explains his thought process but by the time he shows up on screen again, you forget about it. You need momentum. For example, he talked about how he was enjoying the rejection although it was obvious that he was hurt. He expressed that he was happy she was honest but he truly believed that Ammar and Sadaf loved each other. He mentioned a that he was unworthy of her love to Humsha. Again he told Sadaf that he shouldn’t have even thought of it, he isn’t worthy of her love and Ammar is. He changed his life because he loved Sadaf and was able to cope because he could understand the reason behind the rejection and thought Sadaf was happy. Now he sees this isn’t the case at all. Ammar doesn’t trust Sadaf and she won’t let Bilal get involved at all even though he is involved in the situation. She sees it as her standing by a guy who he now knows isn’t worth it. Now he can’t reason with the rejection - how could she reject him for this guy. You need the sequence of events more clearly and for them to take more precedent, not the Ammar and Dania situation that took center stage.

A friend of mine is binge watching l she’s mostly fast forwarded through the Ammar Dania and some Ammar Sadaf scenes and she’s enjoying the story and feeling the impact. It’s like she’s doing her own editing. Direction slowed it down here but editors didn’t do much either to quicken the pace either. L

@bold I told you earlier this show is actually a binge watching material...if the show ends well, many people will binge watch and they would like the story...but here the weekly episodes are too much..specially when the dragging is on different level.

One of the themes from the starting of the show is that what Bilal Abdullah craves for despite his immense wealth is love, undying and unconditional love .The love he never got since his childhood. Even Haseeb posted on instagram on the night Sadaf got married that he prays that Bilal gets true and lasting love. So far Sadaf has done nothing to show that she can give him that.
