Business wise this probably makes a lot of sense for SP. If a 1-hr show from 10:30-11:30 can average 1.8 TRP, why would they axe it? There is no guarantee that a 30 min 11 pm show can fetch 1.8 TRP. I think Jhanak is here to stay for some time... like you said until IPL or until a new 11 pm show can take its place.

Yes...if trp doesn't remain below 1.5 consistently for some time, show will not go off air...with new characters being introduced, this month viewers will show interest in the new storyline...next month they will introduce Runak conflict with PLs in the mix...again viewers will be hooked...March onwards if any good outcome emerges which is different than what has been shown till date, then viewers will remain engaged or else trp will start falling again...so March Tak agr more than 1.5 maintain kar paye to show is here to stay..

An electronic meter like device is used to track popularity of programmes in selected representative samples of a few thousand households using formula of total no. Of viewership of a program divided by total sample size multiplied by 100..then figures are extrapolated...

Sorry I didn’t frame my question correctly

I meant to ask in the evolving times, is the measure of trp static or are more parameters added to this numbers? Like is SM a part of it? Sponsors wouldn’t be silly to look at this numbers solely is my question!!

Trp calculation me SM doesn't count...but yes...in today's time SM matters...I guess from SM also channel earns decent revenue, ofcourse not at par with that of tv...

...the issue is SM is dominated by a much lesser no. Of serial viewers, that too using ott platforms compared to tv audience who are not part of SM...isi liye trp is the bigger determinant..

- Next week's TRP will be based on Lalon sending Shubho away and then bringing him back + Jhanak escaping and finding Vihan. They also aired some 30 min episodes this week.

- The week after will be Lalon having evil gang do housework and Jhanak entering Vihan's house (minimal Ani scenes). Back to 40 min episodes this week.

- TRP will likely be stable or slight drop for above episodes. They may delay Runak meeting for a couple of weeks to see how Jhanak/Vihan family drama will sustain TRPs.
