Honest opinion: Next time Wahaj should chose a drama which is ML centric and totally revolves around him...he shouldn't think about only his role in the drama..

In SMD,his role is good but script is not doing justice to his role or screenspace etc etc. I hope this doesn't happen in his next drama.

you guys are so observant. He looks the same to me and I see no change in physique. I think suits and ascots make him look more built than he is. I think in his silk PJ’s and neck exposed, we can see that he’s more slender maybe? As much as I love his pyjamas, I prefer when he looks more built. Looking at his past IVs..I feel he did this drama because of his trust on producers and his role..he didn't think about script and how audience would react to it.

SMD is a very complex type of story ...masses will not find it appealing at all..most probably he didn't think too much about it.

There has been an issue with his ss at various points in the show, not just now, even though director has tried to pad it up by having so many filler scenes where BA does nothing but look sulky and sad. Like 30%-40% of Wahaj scenes are just that.

but it is not just about screenspace, the series is not Bilal-centric at all. Zaid had more ss than Bilal but Mein's story was not about him.

The issue is that Bilal has no independent tracks of his own, his backstory is not explored, his journey/growth/personal transformation is not what is driving the story. A cktr that had so much to offer is reduced to one dimension - to be Sadaf's lover. Other than 2-3 conversations with escorts and Naamdar sb in early episodes, he has no conversation that is not about Sadaf. Even Humsha and Faraz talk about their relationship but Bilal and Humsha only talk about Sadaf. He has no family and no friends - he does not even heart to heart with Deewan sb like Murtasim used to with Bakhtu. His stature as an industry titan and global business leader gets no scope (just compare with how Sherry's position as a hotelier is seeded in AIEJ in the background).

If you take out the marketing and those filler scenes and if this wasn't Wahaj, no one for a second would say that SMD is Bilal's story. In fact, SMD is Wahaj-centric, the same way Darr was Sunny-centric or Padmvat was Shahid-centric or 22Q was Wahaj-centric.

Wahaj should really read up what it means to be the main protagonist and judge scripts based on that. PTV has had many ML-centric stories where ML was in one-sided love (e.g. Pyare Afzal, KAM3, MNYH) but all of them focused on ML's personal life transformation and his POV, unlike SMD.

Doing a role with limited SS makes more sense in a high prestige drama like JBHSSL or Faraar where the ensemble nature is clear from the beginning and audiences know we get many tracks, and the show is not misleadingly advertised.

SMD is not a complex story at all. It is made over-philosophical and over-cmplicated.

Maybe Wahaj only heard the pitch and we've heard that PH often times oversell actors what the role is and scope is to get them to agree. Or he read only first 2-3 episodes of SMD (they were the only Bilal-centric episodes). The lesson is to not listen to people and put blind trust but read the script. Also be clear in your mind what you are looking for or not at this point in your career, what will this project add to your filmography or its strategic objective.

The ensemble nature of the drama was clear from the beginning because all the characters are there in the posters..but at the end,the main hero heroine is Sadaf-Bilal ..

Whatever it is ,but the treatment of the drama is not right...Bilal’s falling in love made no sense...But at least its not mind boggling like that of the love of other characters....

I think its a complex story futher complicated by dialogues and dragging...because it deals with various human emotions faced in relationships...the way they have been presented to us is not right...that's where they failed.

an ensemble is different from a drama with main leads and 2nd/3rd leads. there was only one poster with the cast otherwise it was not marketed as an ensemble show. faraar is an ensemble show for example.

main protagonist or main lead is not same as hero-heroine that end up together

sunny-juhi end up together in darr but darr ka main lead is srk not sunny

khilji is villain in padmavat not the good king. but it is ranveer who is main lead of padmavat not shahid.

mann jali main faris shafi is the pure sefless liver mehwish ends up with but mikaal has more screentime and scope than faris.
