Rekha - ASR was brutal and ruthless, but IPK is a masterpeice for ITV, because each and every character is done well. Lavanya never became an outright vamp, Shyaam while being a villian still had moments of niceness with Khushi's family in the begining. ASR treatment of Khushi was handled with push and pull. He'll hurt her and then sit and obsess abt it and set things right when he realizes he did wrong. I used to ask myself why I was watching and rewatching a show that shows a ML mistreating a FL but somehow even tho not justifiable the love compensated for the actions. Agree or not some viewers like to see a dominant male on TV, even if not in personal lives. Manorama mami is a classic - never replicated since or even come close.

Anjali, Payal, Akshay everyone - only story I can rewatch time and again.

Leena will never show us what we want to watch. She is more into having the audience sit on the edge of their seats with anxiety. Thats her style.

Imlie lucked out with some balance with the creative - Muskaan. Else story was also very toxic there, but 100 times better than Jhanak.

For those of you who did not see the episode yesterday, J also feels she may have killed one of her captors. They may show that as a reason she does not go back to her film.

So many things were suggested suddenly in the episode yesterday. Appu dying early, Shristi asking Arsho to come back but Arshi hesitating (still WW is fully on), Arshi miscarriage symptoms or further deceit of ani to stop him from going to J, Ani repeating in dialogs how much he lovesJ, just in case audience cannot see it from his actions. :), Adi's love for J also was voiced! Adi also raised that J never seems to catch a break. Shristi and Vinayak divorce went for a toss. They seem abck to being comfortable with eo. No news of court case. Is J established as Shristi's daughter or not. ani seems to think J is kidnapped for badla? So much got packed in yesterday and still the episode was boring

Both Adilie and Arylie have great chemistry. Both are diff - but good. You may like one or the other or both like me.

Other than Jhanak and IPK thats the only other show I have watched.

Actually I haven't watched Imlie. The only show I've watched is YRKKH3. I'll check it out.

In a recent interview, the actress playing Appu said she will be doing a Bengali movie in April. Perhaps she will be shown as sick and out of sight for a while or will be killed to save budget!

Apu is the most decent character in the show...makers are planning to remove her from the show! Shows their level of negativity! They could have easily removed one of the evil Boses..May be that vile thammi!!

LOL I didn't really consider IPK as a show about "men as rehab projects"....it was a typical romance novel plot which exists very much in today's romance novels also....but yeah people outgrow those shows depending on the stage of life they are at.

But then the Q is, what replaces it? Mature love stories? On Indian TV? ....yeah that's always going to be a pipe dream.....most producers on ITV are incapable of funding any project with a mature portrayal of relationships.....all they have is push/pull drama at the max and the execution of that is always a hit or miss.

Problem these days is also that no one wants to bother making effort on writing coherent love stories so their lazy excuse is now is that they are writing "flawed" characters and not "perfect" characters.....lol in the guise of this, they are just writing cheap immoral crap and trying to justify that as "layered drama"

So then you have to ask yourself....was entertainment simpler when atleast makers could get the basic brooding ML formula right even in the confines of "men as rehab projects"? lol is the current fake wokeness era better where FLs are applauded simply over the degree to which they can degrade and insult the love of the MLs as "toxic"? ....FLs of today don't solve any problems and just go around giving empty bhaashans but are somehow applauded as "stronger" than the classic Ekta heroines....lol

Heck even Gul's bubbly heroines which I couldn't stand most of the time seem Oscar-worthy now as compared to today's ITV FLs

Hmmm actually tuf question… it’s really about the treatment of the subject..Men as rehab projects more in the sense of do we connect with the reason for the rehab 😂😂😂😂…Just men conditioned by patriarchy or becos there is some deep seated issue etc; for the former… it’s really about both in the relationship are conditioned on patriarchy… so both will have to unlearn and learn ideally. For the latter, it entirely depends on how the story is treated..

Honestly what’s a good love story? In this medium the constraints are what it is all about cos in another medium conflict cannot be long drawn.. Sink or swim

what pulled us to Runak? Could be different things individually but there was a common factor too… that’s difficult to find in stories

I am happy to say the urge to find what’s happening in Jhanak anymore is receding 😂😂😂

And with the discussions that are happening the urge for Runak to unite has also receded… gone.. better they don’t bring them together!! Will serve us never to fall for any PH like Leena 😂

Hopefully the actors get better projects when this is over…
