I came to itv after ages and quite by coincidence although I do watch half hour surfing channels so if anything catches my fancy I give it a dozen episodes that’s been my style of itv watching

I think the love story genre in itv is DEAD cos conflict in a love story has to be resolved within a time span… it can’t go on forever and if a serial goes on for more than a 250- 300 odd episodes absolutely no way can it sustain as a pure love story 😂😂😂

Leena is trying this stupid concept with bakwas results.. some of us viewers are arguing on character traits jiski dhajjiya udd chuki hain.. after 400 episodes what traits will remain that will not be rinsed, put through the cleaners? 😂

@bold: Yes, that's definitely one part of it....another major reason is that a love story needs some space to grow even for TRPs.....and channels these days are way more impatient and ruthless about wanting TRPS within a month of launch....love stories many times need atleast 2-3 months to build audience connect and from that point on even if you show other drama, the audience has usually built a connection to the love story of the leads so follows them along in the ups and downs of their journey.

You were an IPK viewer and that era still had various types of love stories running across channels....that era had a whole channel like Star One dedicated to youth shows where channels allowed shows to air even with 1.2 or so TRP cuz that was understood to be good TRP for those shows....every genre was allowed space rather than HOMOGENIZING all ITV shows into the same family drama genre as it has become today.

Baaki yeah, any love story with some coherence can max survive for 200 or so episodes....dragging it beyond that is usually via contrived conflicts that break character connect.

This is why I'm saying ki 400 epis ke baad ab expecting any repairing of Runak is pointless.....Leena never gave them space to even spend fleeting moments as a couple in this story and she isn't going to magically start at this 400 epis mark....lol now she will only spread the drama in other directions and expect to bring back the audience which watches this as casual drama just for Jhanak's journey.....lol

The irony for Leena is that she simply doesn't get that most people have just stopped caring

No one is interested in how she tangles or untangles the third angles ahead....lol everyone has only seen her tangle third angles with cheap, contrived tracks, constant gaslighting and flip flopping of characters/dialogues....lol so on what planet is anyone expected to buy into Leena's intentions for aage ka story?

Those who watch will clearly watch if they are eager to jump on board new ships....why do the dikhava of pretending anyone still wants Runak here? Humne pehle bhi logon ko bahut jaldi Imlie mein ships jump karte dekha hai to Arylie

Better to rewatch old shows or pick up a web series than expect to connect to any current or upcoming ITV shows....sab ke sab are dabbas either casting wise or writing wise

Agree. All of us are frustrated. I'm seeing Arshi SS diminishing with story shift so that is making me feel optimistic. Leena feels Runak together will end the show. She wants a 3000 episode show. This was always her goal esp with their song of river banks never meeting.

I've reconciled to no Runak together - only Runak moments. As long as wrong is punished and not denied, there is logic, balance of positive and negative and Arshi is kept to 10% or less, I am good.

LOL I didn't really consider IPK as a show about "men as rehab projects"....it was a typical romance novel plot which exists very much in today's romance novels also....but yeah people outgrow those shows depending on the stage of life they are at.

But then the Q is, what replaces it? Mature love stories? On Indian TV? ....yeah that's always going to be a pipe dream.....most producers on ITV are incapable of funding any project with a mature portrayal of relationships.....all they have is push/pull drama at the max and the execution of that is always a hit or miss.

Problem these days is also that no one wants to bother making effort on writing coherent love stories so their lazy excuse is now is that they are writing "flawed" characters and not "perfect" characters.....lol in the guise of this, they are just writing cheap immoral crap and trying to justify that as "layered drama"

So then you have to ask yourself....was entertainment simpler when atleast makers could get the basic brooding ML formula right even in the confines of "men as rehab projects"? lol is the current fake wokeness era better where FLs are applauded simply over the degree to which they can degrade and insult the love of the MLs as "toxic"? ....FLs of today don't solve any problems and just go around giving empty bhaashans but are somehow applauded as "stronger" than the classic Ekta heroines....lol

Heck even Gul's bubbly heroines which I couldn't stand most of the time seem Oscar-worthy now as compared to today's ITV FLs

Yeah...I also believe that Arshi is soon to be his estranged wife!

They are reducing Ani as Arshi and the baby's ghulam again and giving him utter dialogues to show he is prioritising zimmedari for bachha and bachhe ki maa over his pyaar for J...he is in pain and discomfort, which will only increase in coming episodes...all these are the preparatory stages of estrangement from Arshi..if only the show can survive till that point with current storyline!
