It looks like both SMD and MSM have Indian viewers to thank for their YT views (both are trending at #2 and #4, respectively). Meanwhile, Duniyapur seems to attract a larger Pakistani audience (trending on YT Pakistan at #44). Astonishingly, Bismil's last episode (which aired last week) continues to trend on YT Pakistan (#43).

Besides Pakistan & India, the Middle East is also a big market for PTV dramas, & that's why these dramas get high views at night from 12-4 am.

Is this a misconception that Geo was the TRP leader until this year? Because according to this, ARY has been in the lead since 2022.

Just thinking back, 2022 was ARY's year. Woh Pagal Si, KTK, Sinf-e-Ahan had strong TRPs. Geo had Sayani. But what other programs did well on Geo TRP-wise? Ae Musht e Khaak and Daraar did ok but not as well as the ARY shows mentioned above.

In 2023, Geo scored big with TB. Jhoom and EEJ also did well. ARY didn't break records, but Mein, JAM, Mayiri, Baby Baji, and Dil Hi Tau Hai did well. So, Geo had 1-2 shows that outperformed ARY in terms of TRP, but ARY had more shows getting better TRP.

Geo was of course more competitive with ARY in previous years than in 2024 but it seems ARY still led in terms of overall ratings in previous years?

Ary has been doing well for quite a while. Even their trash soaps does well compared to other channels. I remeber teri rah mein was such trashy serial but it did well trp wise.

Geo might not be the leader in the past years but I have never seen multiple mega projects of GEO get such poor TRPs before.

Geo entertainment was No. 1 channel in financial year 2020-21 but since 2021-22 ARY digital has taken the lead. In 2021-22 ARY had 15% lead over Geo but in 2024 its viewership was 43% higher than Geo.

Yeah. I said it in my post too. That even if ARY was in lead in previous years, Geo was never so bad as it was in 2024. Both Ishq Hua and SMD tanked in terms of TRPs. JN did good TRPs (average TRP was 8.2 across its 65-episode run), but in another year, it could have done even better. I think Khaie was the only GEO drama in 2024 whose TRP average across its run was in double digits (>10).

This year Hum TV seems to have edged past Har Pal Geo. It seems GEO was #2 in 2022 and 2023 but dropped to #3 in 2024.

Hatimoon do you have the poster or similar market share data for 2023 as well? I could only find the one for the whole ARY network portfolio but not for ARY Digital only.
