Personally, I didn’t enjoy GM and criticized it while it was on air. The story was so weak that even great acting couldn’t have saved it. I also don’t agree with those who claim Humayun was the weakest link. This is the same actor who gave us MPTH and Bin Roye, where I absolutely loved his performances.

Similarly, I’ve enjoyed Yumna’s work in most shows, but there are exceptions like GM, Aapke Kaneez, and Rishtey Adhoorey Se. The same applies to Wahaj—I’ve loved him in some projects but didn’t enjoy him in others. Ayeza was brilliant in Chupke Chupke, Chaudhry and Sons, and Pyare Afzal, but I found her average in Mein, where her acting didn’t stand out, though her styling was great. The same principle applies to actors like Sajal, Bilal, and Saba—they all have their own hits and misses.

Blaming a specific actor or their co-stars for the failure of a show seems unreasonable. As for Wahaj’s co-star, opinions may differ. Personally, I found her horrible in SMD and didn’t enjoy her performances in Mann Mayal or JBG either. To each their own!

Agree that no great acting can save a bad story! It's very hard to work with a bad character arc and a poor storyline.

There's no way I got to or have to defend anyone actor just because I like majority of their projects. That's such a herd mentality! I would have been in a group or joined fps. That's a very personal ick of mine. No shipping or fps for me personally. Then I'd have to defend or be loyal even when projects like SMD or GM comes out. I can't criticize or the group will turn on me lol.

I only like for craft and will drop anything that's too much like a hot potato. However, I do my best to finish to give it a fair review. But a few are just not watchable or continuing them cases a headache.

No actor is invincible. A big part is the script. The script is always the king! A Sania Saeed might make me finish a project but my viewing experience is just blah! I can say that I enjoyed her performance but for me personally it's the overall that counts.

Also, consistency is key. You can get an ABABAAA with a few Fs here and there. But there are some who clearly do not elevate, enhance or even portray the character well.

Acting is very reaction based at times. While the script failing cannot save even great actors, having bad reactors or reactions really ruins it for the viewers and the good actors. We all know it could have been done way better.

I'll just end my input on this matter on that note 🙂

On a serious note, what if she says that saza milni chaahiye thing for Maheen? I mean the proof is still a proof, no matter the case is withdrawn or not! And it could potentially damage Beenish ka rishta, which could be her concern!

Remember the story where the kid steals a pencil in school and mom doesn't scold him because he's her raja beta? Fast forward he steals a gold necklace for her and she doesn't really mind.... It's when he murders someone and is sentenced to death he tells her that she should've punished him when he stole the pencil. Mother tells him 'He's an adult who is responsible for his own actions'. He acknowledges his crime and confesses 'By the time he became an adult he just didn't know how to act otherwise.... Routine was easy, change wasn't an absolute necessity'

Sort of an open end for the audience to decide kiski galti hai.

It reminded me of Ek Hasina Thi ending!
