I guess it depends on how much all of us consider under and over promotion. For me TB can’t be compared because too much attention was definitely on it. And Wahaj keeps his insta pretty basic. For me he’s covered his bases with his shows well enough.

I also went and checked Usama’s insta.

Too much Yumna right now.

But I do see his and Ushna’s picture. Like I said, it’s weird if he’s deleted the SMD stuff (idk how it looked previously since I don’t follow him) but maybe he just archived it temporarily. It’s not weird for me if actor moves on from promoting one show to the newer one

My main problem with Wahaj is picking one bad script after the other.

Usama - the acting is just okay. I didn't find something good about his craft before and after aik sitam aur.

Overall, since I don't know these people IRL, I'd like to see good projects with good craft to make my viewing experience and time worth it.

Yumna and Wahaj being great actors and being paired up with mediocres has really been a huge disservice to viewers who enjoy stories and characters.

It's distracting and because of the ones who can't really elevate the character or play it well, it then reminds you of them just acting while the other one becomes the character. It breaks that 4th wall.

Acting is reaction based and it's hard if the other person is not up to the mark or really bad.

We're lucky with QeJ. It's been handled well by the director. The editing saves a lot of things hehehe.

@bold Why W and Y are being seen as one entity. Don't their career have anything else other than tb ? Didn't yumna gave hits with actors like Bilal and Ahmed.

Now we gonna say actress like ayeza khan is weak? Did wahaj gave earth breaking performance in mein to say his co star is weak?

Same for yumna. Did she gave mind-blowing performance in gm to say senior actor like hamayun is weak link?

I am sorry but this habit of undermining W and Y co stars constantly by blaming them for Y and W bad performances is hypocritical.

Oh no! I think it came across wrong! I didn't want to name but I was basically talking about Maya in SMD and Yumna with Usama and Usama specifically in QeJ since these two are on air right now!

Absolutely I love any actor who can show their craft. I mean I watched pyarr ke sadkey yeh Raha dil jugnoo...Zara yaad Kar, many old Yumna dramas. I love Bilal, Ahmed and zahid Sami khan! Now those are strong strong actors.

Wahaj too had many good co-actors! Ayeza needs an award for Mein. Like that was fantastic.

For me great actor is someone who can shine despite weak script and co star.

Usama doesn't bother me much because qej never promised love story or chemistry where both actors should give equal performance.

It is mainly female centric story where others play main part. Also there is hardly scenes of usama. Whatever scenes he had, he was okay not unbearable.

In my opinion, no actor is invincible. While it’s important for actors to put effort into every character they portray, content remains king at the end of the day. Personally, I didn’t enjoy GM and criticized it while it was on air. The story was so weak that even great acting couldn’t have saved it. I also don’t agree with those who claim Humayun was the weakest link. This is the same actor who gave us MPTH and Bin Roye, where I absolutely loved his performances.

Similarly, I’ve enjoyed Yumna’s work in most shows, but there are exceptions like GM, Aapke Kaneez, and Rishtey Adhoorey Se. The same applies to Wahaj—I’ve loved him in some projects but didn’t enjoy him in others. Ayeza was brilliant in Chupke Chupke, Chaudhry and Sons, and Pyare Afzal, but I found her average in Mein, where her acting didn’t stand out, though her styling was great. The same principle applies to actors like Sajal, Bilal, and Saba—they all have their own hits and misses.

Blaming a specific actor or their co-stars for the failure of a show seems unreasonable. As for Wahaj’s co-star, opinions may differ. Personally, I found her horrible in SMD and didn’t enjoy her performances in Mann Mayal or JBG either. To each their own!

My point is that all the actors I mentioned, despite having hits and misses, have consistently delivered good performances and shows overall. If they choose one bad script, they balance it out with two good ones. For example, Yumna may have disappointed in GM, but she’s absolutely nailing it in QEJ.

However, I don’t see Wahaj following that pattern lately. I’m not sure what’s happened to him or his script sense. This is the same actor who gave brilliant performances in DNUTN, IJ, TB, and JBJ, but he seems lost now. When he took up SMD and the first promo was released, I already had a feeling it wouldn’t work. I really hope his next project is better and that he makes a strong comeback.

I don’t believe in this bias nonsense. Sometimes it is just about the actor in question and nothing deeper than that. After Nayab’s promotions which he did with Yumna and rightfully posted about his feed should be diluted with Ghair and SMD related content ahead of his QeJ posts - a show which came later. Now that he’s deleted so many posts it’s looking like “too much Yumna” because the stuff in the middle was deleted.

And like I’ve said it’s no big deal if he has done this.

That’s the thing with good actors. They’re just a script away from wowing the audience again. Look at AAA and what happened with Idiot. Then he came back around. So Wahaj being a good actor will always have that advantage.

I tou liked Yumna with both Zahid and Humayun in GM (Yumna Zahid being my bias in that show lol) and I enjoyed Wahaj Azekah in Mein. Because their stories made sense to me and I could get behind the characters.

However, having said that Yumna Wahaj has become so iconic through their 2 shows together that the comparison naturally comes to me as a viewer. I still enjoy their other shows and co actors but I know it’s not the same. Aisa hota hai. I think every popular pairing has this curse.

Coming to Usama and Maya, I will have to disagree there and I don’t think it’s undermining. I think they’re both decent actors but definitely not at par with Y or W. So the dread is real. Which is why I said Usama has pleasantly surprised me cuz even though Y is the stronger actor their scenes are still working well for me.

Btw there is a post on Reddit too which is somehow connecting wahaj with Usama deleting his photos
