Never watched sp Mahabharata lmao but the title song, Krishna bgm and draupadi actress is fab. Srj and her later was in mahakali in colors and when srj was in patiala babes my respect lessened for him a lot

Br Chopra Mahabharata is a goat show and even though I personally find ramayan very vanilla from where probably ekta got idea of kid leap 😂 can't deny those shows were decades ago, with less budget but with a lot of heart and great casting. No wonder even today's generation love that.

Ramayan was done so many times and I watched gurmeet debina wala NDTV imagine show it was good too, a lot of grandeur and decent casting but repeat value is always old ramayan i guess maybe it's linked to our childhood. They were showed in so much detail and appealed to everyone across generations. Siya k ram was always there and Ashish was good acting but it was not proper representation

They had so much respect for source material and it showed in each details costume set the songs all original. And 2 decade later we have kachra like adipurush and not anything new on tv related to these two epis it really shows maybe we have more money now but no creativity or intent.

Yeah that's the reason it clicked with a huge audience..they stick to the epic as they were written..the og one is still a lot different but most.ppl.dont even know abt the og valmiki ramayan ..but all that aside ..in those times with those.production values , they did the perfect casting, very simple style of narrative , and what I love.most about it is the depth in the dialogues & scenes ..which is missing in every other version ..and those scenes / gyan is actually relevant in all times ..

There were many ramayans later where I liked ram & Sita but I didn't like any other ravan , laxman, hanuman or meghnad 😁

It's so funny but they couldn't crack Hanuman. The og was such a level no actor or direction could reach that

Recently watched sony ramayan the girl playing sita is ok ram is also ok but my god laxman is so hyped 😂😂 people misinterprete these characters a lot. Laxman wasn't a kid jumping around and his brother pulling chains on him. Hanuman wasn't just prabhu ram. Sita wasn't just Swami. I guess ogs also gave us the backstory of these characters so it was easy to connect. Many people probably never read the epics but know the story through ramayan MB shows

What I noticed during dd reruns corona time mb ramayan has a very theatre like direction. Like we are sitting near stage they are acting. The acting is also such. But it's not ott. The environment is created such a way we are part of those epics world watching everything. Very engrossing
