Yess they should have gone for some look that would go well with this cut, but instead they choose full sleeve kurta🤷‍♀️, it can work well with other outfits only if they know how to style which they definitely don't

If they wanted a shorter hair, they should have also modernized her wardrobe. I do not think the hairdo will go well with her ill-fitted full sleeve kurtis ( but then nothing really does). Her pre-wedding sleeve less kurtis with a front slit would have worked better.
