It is official adaptation and they give credit to the writer for it, check credits in opening scene of episodes but the discussion is of no use, I was just saying that the reason leads didn't get happy wedding which is trademark of Rishta is because audience has changed, Gen 2 audience and today's audience is not same.

Gen 4 is Not a remake of Ghum. It's a remake of Kusum Dola. The credit is given to Leena Gandhopadya, maker of Kusum Dola.

That too initially. The story now is completely different than both Kusum Dola and Ghum.

Rishta has mix of different types of Audience - Legacy viewers like me + Abhimaan shippers+ some fans from previous gen who mostly watch for Abhira etc etc.

Rishta is not for Ghum audience. That was very clear by how disappointed Resident Ghum viewers are. It's completely different genre.
