They never wanted him to win. The plan was always to have KV vs RD. They only started sidelining VD once his support became immense. At that point they had to reverse. Usek baad se he has been completely sidelined. It is not like he isn’t doing anything, it is the case of selectively editing out his footage. In the past week only:

- they edited out the chahat fight

- they edited out his fight with DV

- they edited out his argument with KV

- they edited out him consoling Shrutika

And its not like they had tonnes of footage to show, they replaced all of the above with additional minutes of Chum and KV looking at each other.

Exactly all this! The show-runners have a plan and manipulate or edit the show to direct it towards their goal.
