I like the premise of this show but some of the dialogs by Mehru's family members and that Aftab reek so much regressiveness that I find it very repulsive to even hear those thoughts being said aloud is this day and age!!

As progressive as the show tries to be, the social environment it portrays is very different. Culturally, this is very different from what we are used to, and it's hard to reconcile with. But unfortunately it seems to have semblance of reality.

Last two episodes I have been liking chacha. He took stand for both mehru and her elder sister in from of that useless son in law and he was the only one who had valid reasons to be against mehru and shanno marriage.

Did any of you all find the aftermath of the wedding episode today a bit underwhelming? My expectations were really high and idk Mehru didn’t really do anything. And there was just one scene between the leads.

Only thing I enjoyed was Shahnawaz overcompensating for his Mehru feelings with the wrong person He’s actually feeling guilty about his feelings now? What is going on? The way he’s distracting himself with Amal is kind of uncool tbh and extremely unfair to her. He’s basically using her so he doesn’t have to deal with the Mehru situation at home.

And what was the “main woh nahi ker sakta jo main kerna chahta hoon” 🌚

Thursday episodes are always a little underwhelming. And they should have focused more on Shah house than others.

I guess the poor dude is confused himself ..his control freak mom has messed with his head and he can't think for himself and has no clue what he wants and doesn't want. Mehru will set him straight but honestly it's none of her business. I would like her to roll back on her ishq for him and take her revenge and get the hell out. Let shahnawaz pine and lust for her and then lose her!! ..

Meanwhile if Rafay grows a spine and figures how Urooj brainwashed him against Mehru and figures something is up in her life - it would be good to see him call off his engagement with urooj and help mehru win her case. Let shah burn in some jealousy! and if Rafay redeems himself, i wouldn't mind Rafay-Mehru as endgame with Shahnawaz as a reformed good political leader! His mom and bro can rot in jain.

Neither the character nor the acting of rafey deserves that much importance and screentime. He is too weak for someone like mehru. If the ending is separation for mehru and shanno it's fine but mehru ending up with rafey is . She is better off single.

I know its a bit too much to expect but I want Rafay to do a Sufi Creepy and challenge Shanno that all his money and power cannot keep true lovers like him and Mehru apart

One scene this drama should definitely have shown - not sure if it got lost in the edit - was Shahnawaz and his mom actually plotting or her plotting and him listening. There’s so much fill in the blank one has to do to try to make sense of Shahnawaz now. Because for one thing we literally HEARD his inner monologues of developing feelings for Mehru - we know he loves her. But then for the betrayal to make sense, they could have added a scene of the mom and son when they planned all this. The conflict now would make so much more sense. And when they planned this, what was Shahnawaz’s frame of mind? How did HE feel? Some conflict of emotion maybe. Anything. Feels like a missed opportunity.

I really hope it got lost in the edit because otherwise this just seems like a cop out by the writer just for the wedding night shock value scene. There’s no actual basis for this shown. Just audience filling in the blanks.

Ali would have been so good in such a scene. He’s doing well showing his conflicting emotions now so back then when this plan was all plotted out, it would have been interesting to see.
