what sort of expectations from family to make them a part of her parenting. Any joint family does same give love to all kids but bacha maa ke hath mein bhadega. She has seen her mom rising alone with struggles of all kinds so thought a joint family will help kid rise and ahe can grow in career. I till now can't ask my mil to help me if she came on own we accepted what she did in her way to help. My hubby always said why should my mom help a bahu she has no need. It's your mom duty to help. I didn't ask both they came on their own. How selfish to ask them when they are away and leaving their family coming to us. She thinks she gave waris to family so family should do everything to kid. I remember once I read there was a case in which a dil requested the court to order her in laws to help her in raising the kid. ( the case is in India, which place I forgot) Judge refused. According to Judge, raising a kid is parents job, grand parents can be a part of it if they want, but they can't be forced. Judge cleared that elders have done their share duty in their prime and now with another kid they can't be burdened.

that depends on individual wish. If we do one day we cant stop it. My mil helped upar upar jitna kar sakte hi unke hisab se during my beti time. She was 60 plus then. My fil alone stayed in their place cooked and an old house was renovated that time so he was busy in that construction. My father had health issues still my mother came helping me and jumbling around. During my son my mil didn't touch at all. She was angry on me amd and i should say I am responsible for that mess. I learnt later and my beti pulled her. As a mother anyone can do utmost we can't demad someone in inlaws place. Ar if it's hus kid he could have gone to court with her holding baby feeding baby showing high five to Abheera for her countering.
