No matter how much chemistry a pair has. It's necessary for the show to have good story and execution . Some pairs with good chemistry can overcome the bad script, some couldn't. At the end of the day, good story with interesting characters plays huge role in a drama success.

It’s not a 40-50 episodes show because if you knew KRQ and his drama they don’t extend beyond 30 eps as he only writes 26/27 eps as confirmed by Humayun Saeed whose a friend of his and has done most of his dramas and under his production house. Haseeb also has never done dramas above 35 eps so expect SMD to be under 35 eps. KRQ scripts can’t be dragged and can only be extended by 3/4 episodes. In that sense we are almost half way through SMD. It’s enough time to make a judgement.

Tbh she has screen presence and is pretty but as an actor is below average that’s why in terms of tv she doesn’t hit the mark. She’s never given a blockbuster drama with trps and YT views. Mann Maya had good trps but they weren’t the best out there and in terms of acting it was her usual rona dona role that she kept getting typecasted for since then and she did say that’s one of the reason she stayed out of tv for 5 years because she wasn’t getting good enough scripts so stuck to movies that she got back to back.

As far as I am concerned, I found her decent in JBG & now in SMD. So, for now I am enjoying her work in SMD & find her and Wahaj's chemistry & over all scenes pretty good

The definition of commercial & non commercial changes as per convenience here. The commercial shows as per me are those where a good amount of money has been spent & the show is made for masses. When a show highlights social issues of a particular section of people I call it non commercial or a niche show.

Some of the people jumping in here to defend DNUTN now were the ones putting down MJ which was as non commercial as it could get as it stared Bilal & it aired on Hum TV. Someone even brought in DNUTN to say that it used to trend on youtube. Wahaj’s mini series on Geo was brought in to put down Bilal. Now they are behind Wahaj as well. Stay loyal to him at least.

You are free to enjoy the show. But from the past few days, smd is being compared with other non commercial projects to justify the low trp. Enjoy your show without putting down other shows which are not at all revolves around mohabbat.

Some people have special pyaar for mahaj and wahaj. They seem to have forgotten about the last disaster of krq gentleman show which was on green channel that was also a commercial drama, starring the biggest superstar of the country and the most popular actress of pakistan with an ensemble starcast directed by ace director haisam Hussain.

It was disaster ratings and views wise for green. That show too received too much criticism, the leads fell in love just like that without any buildup. Heck the fl who hated gundas and wanted to eliminate them from the system fell in love with a gunda our of nowhere and forget her 8 year old fiance too.

That channels current shows with less budgets are receiving higher views than gentleman

They can look at TB it was a rubbish story but the leads chemistry kept it up. Ask anyone and they’d say it’s the chemistry and that in itself is rare. That a show can be carried by chemistry happens once in a blue moon.

Considering Geo's history I can guarantee its a 40+ episodes.

I know KRQ doesn't like to write long scripts..but you never know here he might have written on kaddu's request.

We all know Haseeb has given best shows in pak industry be it Alif or Jannat se Aagey or Mann Mayal..but we could see his below average direction..how he has used slow-mos and tried to drag the drama..so I suppose its going beyong 40 episodes..these days 40 epis+ is not a big thing in pak tv industry .

I m sorry I don't consider it right time for judgement.

DNUTN can be compared to JBG. Now bring the views for both of them.

QEJ can be compared to ZPKB , same channel, time slot and day.

And compare Sunn Mere dil to jaan nisaar.. SMD is big flop and kadwani uncle knows it. 5 fans here are not going to make any difference, doest matter how much they defend it.

What is the definition of non commercial ?It is definitely not a romantic drama but the makers have promoted it like that just to commercialize it

SMD ki story dekho. It's 100% commercial drama. Bad executions and slow pace doesn't make a drama less commercial. Slow birn romances have gotten TRPs. There's really no excuse in how badly botched this project is from top to bottom.Konse nashe karke Haseeb ne posts lagaye the ya Kaddu called it dream team remains a mystery to me. Fixing the pace and filters alone in post- could have made this 30% better.
