How is ganga related to visnuji and ramji?

Why do everyone call Lakshman Saumitra?

Ram is an incarnation of Vishnu. Ram's ancestor Bhagirath brought Ganga from heaven to Earth. There are some other stories showing how Ganga is related to Vishnu. As an example, Ganga comes out of Vishnu's feet and hence is called as Vishnupadi.

Laxman is Sumitra's son, therefore he is called as Saumitra.
